On July 29, 2005, Canadian police, acting on a request from the United States Drug Enforcement Administration, simultaneously raided the BC Marijuana Party Bookstore and Headquarters in Vancouver and arrested Emery for extradition to the United States outside a local storefront in the community of Lawrencetown, Nova Scotia where he was attending a HempFest. Emery and co-defendants Gregory Keith Williams, 50, of Vancouver, BC and Michelle Rainey-Fenkarek, 34, of Vancouver, BC are charged with "'Conspiracy to Distribute Marijuana", "Conspiracy to Distribute Marijuana Seeds" and "Conspiracy to Engage in Money Laundering". Canadian police have not laid charges.
Emery was freed on a $50,000 bail and prepared to fight extradition in the courts.

Its against both American and international law for the U.S. to arrest him first. Thats another good reason to read the U.S. Constitution.

Pot activist faces extradition

ROD MICKLEBURGH
From Saturday's Globe and Mail

Vancouver — Marc Emery, Canada's most prominent pro-marijuana activist, is facing the possibility of life imprisonment in the United States for selling marijuana seeds over the Internet to U.S. customers. In a stunning development, RCMP officers arrested the self-proclaimed “Prince of Pot” in Halifax yesterday after a U.S.

i`m glad you believe everything you read in the news. i was standing at the shop in vancouver when they showed up. they repeatedly asked our cops to arrest him for this but they didn`t seem to care enough for your dea i geusse. because our guys would come and just tell him to stop, ya right. so they had enough of us not being bullied so they came up here and got him themselves. thats the story i got. a bit more reliable than the news.
dont think i`m on his side iether. i dont like what he is about realy, says he just does this to give back or try to get it legalized but i see he`s in it for the money. must be nice to travel the world on our buck, and now they want us to donate money for thier legal costs, ha!!

stays relevant.
just curious... why would a grower (Who has to spend money to create the product) want to give his flowers away for free, when collectives will pay well by the pound?

Where is the incentive in helping you?

not in helping me, but in helping the people that really Need it, that can't afford to pay for it, and are unable to grow it themselves. I have already addressed this issue many times in this thread...

IMO its all about money, it always has been and will always be..........This is not about supplying the sick with meds, to believe that you would only be fooling yourself...I can sell 1 oz and make the money it cost to produce 1 harvest so it doesnt take much money at all........People see how easy the money is and they want more....its called greed. Same thing with dispensaries, if they werent making a profit, the doors would close....Its basically underground drug dealing............It has never been about supplying the sick with meds:peace: Is it a shame? maybe but who am I to say anythingbongsmilie

unless your doing it for free, and really make no money off of it, then: your really supplying sick people with meds. There is no scapegoat in this. The public sees through the "supplying sick people with meds" excuse that the dispensaries/clubs use to make money, and a lot of people would be a lot more supportive of cannabis overall if it had a lot less to do with money, and a lot more to do with the herb, the sick people, and being free...

I understand that but look at all the attention this thread has recieved. Look at all the people that said do what for free? You see where Im getting too....People always use the excuse that it costs them to produce a harvest so why should they give anything for free.....Thats a lame excuse.....Like I said it is very minimal the cost to what a harvest would produce........If people were feeling what you were saying in this thread then you would have not gotten so much of the answers and statements you did.......thus showing you that nobody is going to do anything for free.......at least not the people here.....Its all about money:peace: Im sure there are a few good people out there, but majority of them wether they admit it or not, its about money. Ask them if marijuana was a non profitable crop how would they feel about that....You might get a couple real answers, fact of the matter is, people would be pissedbongsmilie

yeah... too many people that are scared of not having that green that we all depend on....
Maybe so but I doubt it would matter as much as the people who will lose there way of supporting their family.....As for me I work and grow......I basically grow for myself...I dont donate, dont sell........I just grow so I can smoke.....I work to support my family.........I could prolly get disability but it would not be close to the loot I make from working:peace:

Ive been around familys that are more reliant on selling herb. Not that they are struggling to get by but that is just what they do.
