I love the fox farms ocean forest, light warrior, and happy frog! They are great products IMO. Like all good things in life they are just good in moderation. Personally I use 40% Ocean Forest for Veg plants and Happy Frog for Bloom, Although I have had wonderful results with Ocean Forest for both veg and bloom, 40% Pro-Mix Bx and 10% Perlite. With that mix I have NEVER went wrong. What nutes are you using?
I have never used Roots Organics Soils but i'd like to give them a try soon, I have heard many many good things about their soils as wel as their nutes.

I had good results with earth juice nutes (Grow, Bloom, Catalyst, Micro-Blast, Meta-K). Be sure to also use a Mycorrhizal. That is extremely important for your plants and their root growth and food uptake. I use both White Widow, and Myco Madness by Humboldt Nutrients. But iv heard good things about the shark one, not too sure of its name I just remember shark, maybe Great White Shark.
Also for my flowering plants when I would add just water everyother feeding I would add some sucanat to the water (1 tbs per gal of water). I have been thinkin of swithing to Roots Organics nutes to see if I can get even better results.

Good info here. Have you ever tried mixing up FFOF with Light warrior it helps. And also Happy Frog is good stuff. LW And HF have mycorrhizal in it.

My exp with MG was always a off PH and it was full of bark.. Esp. the Organic MG what a joke.
You can amend soils to and let them cook it is the way to go. Look into it.

I use to use the OF with LW with 10% perlite but it can become costly. I have had the same results using light warrior as using the pro-mix. Now i only use light warrior to start seeds, which it does the best. Pro-Mix Bx works best as a medium for clones also.

I use MG Seed Starting Soil and it works great. I just planted 6 seeds tonight. I plan on transplanting half to FFOF and half to Dr. Earth Potting soil. They are the two best looking soils at my local nursery, so lets see if FFOF is any better than Dr. Earth (which is a little cheaper).

There's nothing wrong with either Fox Farms or Roots Organic soils, other than the occasional fungus gnat here and there. They're both far superior to anything made by Miracle Grow. I can get great results with either FF or RO, with just about any nutrient line... it's not the dirt, you probably just need to learn.

and dont feed for the first 3-4 weeks in new soil and with transplanting use 1/4 dose nutes for a week or 2

I personally have to order Foxfarms or Roots online, which with shipping, I find to be very costly. I've used MG Organic choice with great results. More recently I've been mixing mine with black and gold from my local garden center and some coco. The girls seem to like it better, and its very inexpensive. I wouldn't make a bold statement saying the others dont work though, Many people get great results with roots and FF. MGOC has a very very low nutrient content though so feeding is very necessary.

Start using coco coir. I love it never had a problem with it. For nutes ive used, earth juice- grow, boom cat, alyst, Mycos, and molasses. Then i recently switched to house & garden coco a&b. I loved the earthjuice but was getting to smelly for indoors. house & garden rocks!
