Found a Baby Eagle

I was out four-wheeling in the woods on my property today and I noticed a young Eagle sitting on the ground not too far from where I was riding so I drove closer to get a better look and saw it had an injured wing.

After chasing it around and trying not to get ripped apart by it's huge talons and beak I finally managed to grab it from behind so as not to injure it even more.

I brought it to the local Raptor Center and they're unsure whether it'll ever fly again but they said I saved it's life by finding it.

Here's a few pics.

I go canoeing in the summer on lake Washington. I know a good spot where bald eagles come out and feed literally feet from us. The first time it was terrifying! The adults are fucking HUGE! They would fly right over us like 5 feet away when they caught a fish, showing off for us. Like he knew we were impressed. The wing span had to be like 5 feet tip to tip.

That would be cool if she got better and was able to be reintroduced to your property again. Either way not being able to fly surely meant death for that amazing creature.
From the looks of the injury they think she might have been shot and that it was already starting to heal.

The knuckle on her left wing was missing and they think the bone will fuse.

Not cool if someone around my place is shooting eagles.

Yeah definitely not cool. Eagles eat rodents and are just badass in general.

AMAZING!!! I have a pair of Falcons on my property and it is unreal to watch them work together to hunt. I almost feel sorry for the squirrels!

Fuck, if only it could fly again you could have taught it to fly off with your deer :D That thing is wicked! We don't get uch more than seagulls around here, if that's a baby, how big do those things grow??

lol you are lucky the lil bird did not take ur eyes out. I know a few people that do not like the Eagle's because the grabed there cat or little dog :( Has to be tough having a dog for so many years and putting it outside to go potty and a Eagle swoops down . I had on that was being a pig pulling fish out my pond, would take a few bites and drop the fish ,fly down and grab another one. I so wish I had a video cam that day. as the bird just wasted 3 really big fish and did not eat em, kinda what happends when they are hand raised they turnd lose.

lol ya When I seen the word baby, I was expecting to see something very small, like crow size or something, not that big lol. It would be neat if you could have nursed it back to health yourself. Back when I was a kid Me and a friend found a crane with a broken wing that got washed in by the tide. It could not fly, and was walking very lousy with no balance. It still had lots of energy, it was pecking at our faces, terrified. We didn't know what to do, We told an older gentleman about it, and he got a box and we put it inside a big box. He took it to the vet or some animal place and what ended up happening was it got put down. It was very upsetting, trying to save an animal to only find out they just kill them. I was only about seven at the time.
So how long did you have the eagle for anyways? Have a chance to try to feed him or anything like that? Was the eagle terrified or in pain?
