For some reason, reading that brought up a good paranoid point. What if one of the new mods is a government employee?

Because if the position is for a site mod like FDD was, there aren't many people I would vote in for that job.

maybe Greatwhitenorth would be a good whole site mod, off the top of my head.

i agree NGG is kinda a jerk but thats not the point here j/k i would like to second the motion to elect KEVIN MUPHY for the moderator job in general growing. i consider myself less of a noob as everyday goes by largely in part from the help of kevin. he has my vote, wont you join in with us and rooting for a mod who deserves it? that is all

Plus I enjoy arguing and dicking around too much. People would accuse me of abusing my power even though I've been that way since I got here. Of you edit yourself carefully and word things cleverly, you can call someone a bitch or a retard or a fucking moron, and get away with it. I wouldn't want to have to change that.

I'd be willing to help out in the Outdoor section if you guys can use a hand. That's pretty much all I do and where I'd say I spend most of my time on RIU.

Why would I like to do it? Sounds like it could be an interesting experience. Learned a lot and met a bunch of cool people here and want to give a little back. The Outdoor section is usually pretty tame, but should be picking up with fall approaching and would like to help keep the peace. A few words of wisdom never hurt, but as a moderator I don't feel it is necessary to throw my 2 cents into every single thread.

I've been a moderator on several messageboards over the past 10 years. I'd only be around 3-4 hours a day since I cant access RUI at work.

What I'D like to see are trolls and idiots (and their posts) removed from the forum. Stuff like guys bragging about ripping off a grow, beating their woman to keep her in line, that kind of stuff, as well as stopping the personal attacks, like when a few folks in a thread are calling each other motherfuckers and flexing their E-peens. IMO this site should be about sharing information, helping others with their problems and comraderie

I would like to leave the Thread Policing to the Existing Mods with their current knowledge of how to handle those situations with ease, banning someone can be tricky business. I would on the other hand be great @ enforcing the TOU such as deleting Pornographic / Inappropriate images & ensuring none of the same images are used as Avatars. Banning the users who admit they are under the age of 18 would come naturally, you know.. . the basics. That's the MOD I want to be so if its not too difficult can you Create that position Rolli. ^^ I think people should easily be able to navigate the site & avoid the threads they may disagree with, & when the time comes a thread has to be dealt with we have existing MODs that have seen it all before and can do so in the best manner. Certain peoples definition of a "Troll" and their pursuit to dispose of them is a scary thing to me. :)

Oh fuck ya. I'm back bitches and campaigning hardcore for my spot in the Hallucinatory section. I'm playing old school politics and wont hesitate to shank any Ceasar Tyrant in the House of the Collegiate who gets in my way. It's Cryptkeeper for 2011.

That's one of the main reasons why I want to be a mod and its also because I've seen that stuff in the forums that I am in.
