Hi all

I just found god knows how many mason jars, some in a fridge some not Theyre prolly 1 and a half years old. Ive never seen anything like it so thought id share. Id greatly appreciate any tips on cleaning this. I plant to pc, attempt to discard content, pc again jars in fairy liquid, wash normally. Dont say throw out buy another case cause here in spain they dont sell those at the hardware store for peas like in america.

Metabolites anyone?

I once had a jar with trich contamination. I left it alone and much to my surprise the mushrooms kicked it ass and killed it all.

The black one I would inject 10% bleach water into and wait for a week. The white one, I would scrape the top out and mix it with three times as much compost and hope for the best.

Don't breathe that stuff or you will die.

Lol man youve not seen the nasty bacterial shit ive tried culturing. THAT would fucking kill you mate. Thats just clearly oooold dehydrated myceliumm, dont get me sworng not gonna be snorting it, but i doubt its that bad lol.
I cant inject anything into it, wont pcing do the trick?

wait, what... they don't sell mason jars in spain?

If they do i havent found when i was looking to buy. I might just get some 1 liter jars with normal lids and replace them everytime i need to incubate, i dont grow much anymore anyways...
Another thing you cant fucking get in spain in bulk is fucking popcorn corn like you guys have. I own chicken and at the feed store dont have it, i can only get a hold of rye and its a bitch the hydrate right, and even then you wiiiiiill get the odd spot thats mushy from pcing and wont colonize, at least the rye i work with. Popcorns so easy...

Dont take a chance, chuck them.

Starting to think that way too.

Mason jars are pretty dear, i can get cheaper that still do the trick just think ill have toi replace lids a lot more frequently.
Have you tried non mason containers?

Bags, half gallons and full gallons. All can be gotten online. I am quite certain i got a very serious case of pneumonia from a spore release in an oyster grow last year and i know there are carcenogenic varieties of aspergillis. If you are just itching to spin the wheel on blood disorders or lung disease then try and save two bucks a jar.

Btw, some if these things produce toxins. That means that heat is unlikely to change the danger level. You are right, i see no danger, but dude, its a picture. Aflatoxin is a bitch and you wont know for years.
