a 2 part system has a gro and bloom formula... these contain both macro and micro nutes...

a 3 part system has a gro, bloom, and boost/micro formula.. the micro formula has calcium, magnesium, and all those little micro nutes your plant needs...

the nice thing about 3 part systems is if you need more calcium or anything in for your plants you can increase the 3rd part... if you need less you decrease.. its very very versetle all around... very customizeable to your plants specific needs

Heres what my otm are doing. Leaves are a lighter shade of green so Im a little worried that that will progress. And they've stretched. 2 of them are mutants.

So i used the paper towel method and started germinating some seeds. I popped in a day, then the rest followed each about a day apart.

I am wondering if it is best to put them under light as soon as they get in the dirt or wait until they sprout out of the ground?

I put the first 2 under the light and the 2nd 2 in the closet without light

First seed that popped is seeming to be doing fine, the rest haven't popped out of the dirt yet :(

the lighter green is nothing to worry about.. new growth always emerges a lighter green color...

the stretching is due to poor lighting... you need to increase the amount of light or get the light closer...

dont worry about the mutants.. they may just be slow starters.. wait until they get older and see what happens to them.. i had what i thought was a mutant my last grow.. ended up being one of the best yielders..

drop the intake fan and see if that doesnt help lower temps...

but honestly, as long as it is getting plenty of fresh air and there is good air exchange (fresh air can be inside air as long as its being changed out of the grow area) temps are less of an issue.. warmer temps only matter when co2 levels could be an issue.. as long as there is plenty of new air and good air movement there will be plenty of available co2..

o and happy new years every body
they are really stretched... what kind of lighting are you using??

i personally leave mine under light all the time... you can wait until they pop the soil if you want.. but i like leaving mine under light all the time...

Ok here is a crazy idea
I have an i-olite i-inhale portable butane powered handheld vaporizer
really nifty, runs on butane along
uses some kinda catalytic heater thingy i dunno
but its made out of safe plastics, and only produces co2 and water vapor as byproducts
it can run for a little over 2 hours and I believe it costs less than a penny of butane per hour to operate
I am wondering what people think of me using this is say my pc grow box as a co2 producer?
the only part of the thing that heats up is like the size of a tiny pinky finger nail and is far into the device so as there is no way it could cause a fire
but yeah its about the size of a tiny pinky nail *the part that heats up
ok just saw on the website the fuel tank is 3.6ml / 0.122 fl oz

so really what I am asking is this: Does anyone here think that burning 1.86ml of butane an hour produce is any significant amount of CO2, at least for a PC tower grow case? 1.86ml butane for less than a penny an hour?

PSS:: its not constantly lit? like initially it heats up for like i dunno half a minute? then after that it burns butane for like 5 to 10 seconds every couple minutes i think *bit high hard to do math

the almighty sun mahahahahaha but ya i dont use the soft white anymore
ok.. i thought that was the light bulb plants.. yeah, they look ok other than being stretched.. its just gonna take a lot of sun and some time to get the stretching back under control.. how many hours of light a day would you say its getting??

in a small space like that i would think that the lighter would put off enough co2 to have an affect...

but i dont know about heat and the such...

my suggestion, i suppose, is try it out and see... put the lighter in a pc and let it light for a while... check the temps..

there's no flame right?? just a heating type element??

yeah there is no flame, if i remember right there is some special metal/crystal strip that is splashed with the butane and they freak out and it lights

it looks like one of the heating things from a toaster except its blue (it is orange though for the first few seconds you first turn it on, after that it stays blue when it heats up until it runs out or you turn it off)

I am totally sure it can't cause a fire even if set in a pile of dry grass, not sure how much it will heat up the thing, probably not much, i will test sometime

i'm just hoping someone who can do math could figure it out how much it might raise the ppm, i hear normally air is like 300ppm of co2, and that 1200-1500 is best for marijuana, just wondering if anyone has any clue what a device that burns that much butane could do

i know there are like tiny heating devices some people use..

your best bet would be to get a small co2 tank with a regulator.. im sure it would cost less in the long run.... dont know what else would work for something that small.. unless you did like a yeast and sugar type mix...

about 10/18 i think i could be off

with only 10 hours of light a day it wont grow.. those hours will set the plant into flower.. it needs 18+ hours of light a day to veg grow..

basically, unless the amount of hours increase the plant wont thicken up or grow much more.. it will just continue to stretch and fall over under its own weight..

that looks more like a cal/mag deficiency than burn...

and really.. nute burn is a myth.. but thats another story all together...

what nutes are you using?? are you using a cal/mag additive?? it seems in soil grows that its almost impossible to go without some sort of cal/mag additive...

but as far as a flush... run 6 gallons plain water.. then 6 gallons 1/4 strength nute solution.. then start increasing the nutes again like you would when you first introduce nutes to your plant..

im using technaflora ang going off there chart, so should i double the cal/mag or just flush
