fluorescents

which 4 ft. fluorescents should I get for my grow box?

I am just going to use these for veg and use an hps for flowering.

i mean like what bulbs t5 or t8 for vegging,any help would be greatly appreciated lol thanks

i 'm using t12 s. i picked up a two bulb open channel fixture at homie depot for like 10 bucks. plus another 6 for the bulbs. it doesn't really matter that much though whther u use t12 t8 or t5. although if i had to get what ever i'd probably go with t8s. i just got the t12 cause they were cheaper.

Depends on how much you want to spend. I use $12 W-Mart 2X40W shop lights and do fine in veg. with 3 (6 tubes) per side.

Then there's the T-5's and T-8's, which I've never used. Obviously the "real" ones would generally produce faster.

HOT5's look good. But for the coverage and cost, a HID is cheaper overall. For heat, well, the T5s I've checked out at hydro shops around the country have been kinda hot. Not just the ends either. But I think a HID will still toss out a lot more heat.

If for a small personal grow, say 6 1/2oz plants, the T5 might be best

If just for veggin, pretty much anything will do *well*, with the proper 'color temp' bulb.
