I wanted to look into buying a T5 setup but I live in Hawaii and after looking at the outrageous shipping rates to order any fixtures over even the bulbs to put in them out here I guess I'll be turning to the hardware store route. Its not that I have a strict budget, I just really can't accept spending $150-200 on shipping and similar rates just for bulb replacements...
I wish I could find them locally but the only hydro store on the island I'm pretty sure doesn't stock any and if they did would most likely pass on the shipping rate to me in the final price anyway.
The reason I was looking into T5s in particular or T8s/T12s would also work was the flat low profile that would work ideally in my confined setup, would any of the hardware store versions of these work? I know they aren't the HO versions ideal for growing but will they work? Maybe using more of them?
I'm open to any recommendations, hope you guys can help.
