Flowering Time

I have some clones flowering in my space and they are 100%sativa. Their flowering time on Nirvana's website says they flower from 10-12 weeks. So I have read on rollitup that some people think flowering starts when you go 12/12. Well I don't think that is the case at all. My clones have been "flowering" for 4 weeks under a 400 watt HPS. I just saw yesterday that the first female hairs showed up.

So I am looking for a debate here will it be 8 weeks for them to get done or will it be 10-12 weeks

Hard telling. What strain you growing? If you see the female pre-flowers "white hairs" that's when i start counting the days.

Yes, the flowering time Days start when you switch to 12/12.

And there is no need for debate. If it is a 100% sativa, the flowering time will be at least 12 weeks, probably 14-15.

If that is the case, then your plants are right on schedule. Using the 40/60 Theory, when the plants stop stretching, you are 40 percent of the way through flowering. The other 60 percent is flower formation, and flower ripening.

Yeah man... It take a 12 dark period for about 2 weeks in order to initiate the "Flowering" stages of any strain. Unless, of course you have an "auto-flowering" strain. And I don't think thats the case since you cant really clone auto flowering plants. I believe you have the amount of time it takes to harvest which is 10/12 weeks, confused with the amount of light it takes to flower any cannabis strain 12/12 which means 12hrs of dark and 12hrs of light.

When ur plants are ready they are ready. Some may take longer than what the seed co says some might be earlier. I got some skunk haze seeds. One seed bank says it takes 9 to 11 weeks to flower. Another seed bank says 11 weeks. Im at week 9 and one of my ladies looks ready while the other lady is almost there. Im letting mine grow a bit longer as i prefer a body stone than a cerebal uplifting buzz.

all my plants showed sex while they were in veg but they veged for over 2.5 months. but we do notice that our sativas are flowering way slower than the indica . the indica has nice bud tops formiong everywhere as where the sativas are just got hairs like crazy. just finishes week 1 of flowering as well.
but 15 weeks seems like a long ass time

I just recently had the same question(on another site)i allways thought it started when i saw the first hairs,but i was wrong.I contacted the breeder and they said it starts as soon as you turn the lights to 12/12.For a pure sativa 14-16 weeks is normal.Were these freebes?I was wondering because you said you prefur a more body stone wheres haze is a head buzz.Good Luck&Stay Safe!!

Yeah the haze is more a cerebal uplifting high. But if u wait a bit longer wait for more of the trichs to turn red and amber. U will get more heavier stone buzz. My indicas i harvested last week. I grow both indicas and sativas at the same time. I prefer indicas to sativas for the buzz. But i love the haze for taste and daytime smoking. The reason i like indicas more is that i dont sleep well. I need something strong to knock me out. So i use the indica more medicinally.
