Flower or Fruit??????

Why do we all say females flower, when it is the male plants that flower and the females that produce fruit. does fruit not produce seeds. does bud not produce seeds. I have wondered this for some time now, Anyone?????

Not the fruit I was talking about,

i like to call it fruit, its the fruit of my labour, also it goes with the healthy eating triangle eat 5 serves of fruit daily,
i smoke at least three....
