To clarify, those burned up brown buds, were all that was left after pulling 2 zips of good buds and a bit of larf. Just leave some larf buds and put back into 24 hr light cycle.
I only run 24 hr for moms, veg(limited as I do sog), and clones. Then flower rooms 12/12.
I am gonna see if 24 hr is +/- to 18/6, of course that takes more space and lights, with ? Results.

Thanks! Yea that was the Canon M50, still playing with it. I keep forgetting to switch from jpeg to raw.

I don't know, the leaves got a little fucked a couple weeks ago when the feeds were getting close to 1900 ppm.

I know I still got some time to go, just checking things out. Gonna pull one of the Bubble Gum Boogies out in the morning.

They are starting to purple up nicely, but you live and learn.

Come the New Year I will be prepared and ready to take on the task, plan on popping some seeds and hopefully getting some good mothers and start a perpetual grow. I am excited to start my next chapter of growing, and will post some new pictures soon. Grow looks awesome flat rate. I’ve got a 4vs in my 3x3, but am still in Veg. It’s pictures and results like the ones you are seeing that convinced me to go with Timber.

Regarding the plant you like, it’s never too late to take clones from her. I’ve taken clones on the day I harvested on several occasions (same thing, found a pheno I really liked and wanted time keep it going) and they will root and re-veg. And, while you will get some funky looking growth initially, you’ll also get plants that will branch out like it’s going out of style and become absolute bushes (great for a Mother plant).

Thanks for chiming in LCPGrower1980, glad to have you along. What sold me on Timber was their reputation for great products and great customer service. I spent roughly two weeks searching the net for anything I could find about them. I did find some debates over Timber and other brands, but most sided on Timber. Also anytime Dan was mentioned they raved about him!

I am still a novice at all this, so maybe I don't know what I am talking about, but as it stand now and probably for a long time coming Timber will always be my choice in lights. Just got my 3VL delivered yesterday!

I usually give update pictures on Thursday, but was a little bored this morning and thought I would take the opportunity to play around with my budtography. I am at day 55, one day shy of placing week 8 in the books.

@DoubleAtotheRON these were shot in raw, ISO 100. How do I get the blur in the background to go away? I want them to be crisp. As always all I did was resize them for the forum.

Some time ago I had a thought about a simple grow, just something that required water. I am sitting here on my night off drinking beer and the thought came up again. I went into my seed container and selected White Widow from Seedsman. Yea not the best genetics but something if it goes south I am not going to really care about.

The plan is to grow them in Nectar for the Gods #4 soil only using their One Shot granules. All I plan on using is PH'd tap water, SLF-100 once a week, Cultured Biologix EZ Tea once a week, and Bigfoot Mycorrhizae three time during the plants life. My veg tent is really not complete, don't have the exhaust fan yet, but said fuck it I am going to wing it! It will be a fun experiment.

This is where your aperture or Fstop comes into play. The F Stop is just like the iris in your eyes. For instance, like the above pic. This looks like it was taken with a F stop of maybe 2.8-5.6ish... which means the (iris) was almost wide open when the shot was taken. The more you squeeze down the F stop, like to 16 or up to 22, (this will only be a pinhole in the aperture), the flatter your photo will be, and it will take out the blur in the background.... Now, when you get a pinhole size aperture, this is going to also cut down on the amount of light/time for the image to hit the sensor... so what do you do about that?...decrease your shutter speed. A slower shutter speed gives the small aperture time to hit the sensor and produce an image that's not too dark. Make sense?

Does your camera have a led preview screen? If so, experiment with 100 ISO only and play around with F stop on a single object. You will find that as you set the aperture on the lower end (wide open), you will have to increase the shutter speed, and as you squeeze down the apature (small hole), you will have to decrease the shutter speed. Just focus on one object on a table or something in the same lighting and same ISO. Most cameras with a preview screen will show you what it's going to look like with a half press on the button. That way you don't have to go back and delete a shit ton of pics on your card.

Damn your good! I read what you wrote three times and grabbed my camera F stop was at 3.5. On another note I am a dumb ass. I just figured out that I can control the ISO, F stop, and something else I can't remember right now on the damn touch screen on the back of the camera. I always went into the menu, LOL. Had this thing just shy of a year and just now figured that out, WTF!

Shutter speed! ... that's the trifecta ISO, Apature , and shutter speed.... that's all you need to learn how they interact with each other.

Some cool things you can do with a slow shutter speed are rivers, creeks, streams. You can set your camera up for a slow shutter speed and let the shutter stay open for like a half second.... this takes a tripod. But set your ISO to 100, set your shutter speed to a half second, and adjust your apature to center in the middle of the meter... you camera knows to compensate for this. The final shot will look like butta. The water looks blurry, and everything else is crisp and clear.... like this. Not as sharp as the original, because this is just a screen shot grab, but you get the idea. Screen Shot 2019-12-05 at 8.12.15 PM.png

Also, you should not have to go to the touch screen to make adjustments. You should have 2-3 dials that you can quickly change everything. And sorry!.. didn't mean to highjack your grow thread with photo bug gibberish.

No need to be sorry my friend, the info your giving me will only help make my journal better. My camera has 1 dial around the shot button thats it. I always went into the menu to make adjustments. The info on the bottom of the touch screen I always thought it was just there to list what the settings were at. Yesterday when I grabbed it to check somethings and tapped on the ISO and a scale popped up and realized I could adjust it and watch on the screen what it was doing in real time. Then I tried to others and boom, I discovered I can adjust all three things on the fly and instantly and see whats going on. Hope I explained that well enough, I don't know all the fancy lingo yet.

In other news, I was sitting here a bit bored and decided to hang my new veg light. Once again Timber sent me a pristine fixture, and to my surprise it had a 10 ft cord, very nice. It was a lot easier than hanging the Fatty VS.

If you’re not married to the Nectar For the Gods soil, I’ve had good success growing in Michigan Made Mix. All you need to add is ph’d water from start to finish, and you can put seeds straight into it (no need for “seed starter soil”).

Just throwing it out there. Have no personal experience growing with the method you proposed, so no idea how the two would compare.

I definitely agree about Timber’s customer service and quality.

I looked at a bunch of different COB and QB lights, and decided to go with the Timber for a combination of factors (build quality, user friendliness, customer service, supporting a US based company that is up front about what they provide and who’s products deliver what they say they will, and honestly I just kinda like the COBs better than the QB’s ‍♂).

Definitely 100% happy with my decision and purchase. Would choose the Timber again if I had it all to do again.
