My girl and I got into Heroin in our early 20's. we kicked it with help from Suboxone,.. we parted ways and like 5 years later she says I should try Kratom its like a legal H high.... i order that shit, yeah you get high as fuck but holy hell is it nasty tasting. i guess in pill form it would be okay but you'd still get that nasty ass kratom taste in back of throat right? LOL! I feel ya. Nah I was in pain management a few years back and had to quit when I lost my insurance. Kratom is great for people trying to get off recreational opiates or help with pain. I'm about to just say screw it and go back to taking kratom rather than ineffective norcos that destroy my liver with tyl-enol. The taste doesn't bother me, but I don't like the mental effects of some of the varieties. It makes it hard for me to focus. There are so many different names for the shit now I can't keep it straight. I found a new store with reasonable prices but I'm trying to figure out which variety they have that will help with pain and won't make me all blotto.
Oh shit, thanks bro. Much appreciated. Yeah it's turning into a vicious cycle these days between government approved meds, depression, inactivity, pain, and the side effects of all of the above. I had a good pain management doc about 4 years ago that was a neuro surgeon and had broken his own back TWICE...So he knew a lot about the way the body worked and pain. He got me on a good regime and between that and working doing something I loved (farming), and lots of sunshine, I felt better than i had since I was 25. Since I quit I've put on 80 lbs and started getting even more health problems....i just wish the government would mind it's own fucking business and let me do what's right for me.

Nah bro I don't have problems with withdrawal. I just use opiates these days strictly for pain relief and not for a buzz. 4-5mg norco a day isn't anything. I never really used opiates for a buzz but more to work long hours in pain. Opiates are like speed to me. Some people nod off I paint the house and build a patio complete with a fish pond. I got into a wreck in 05 and nearly died. I had a never ending supply of morphine and used it to work 12 hrs a day doing hard labor. I started with snorting 20-40 mgs and kept bumping it up until I was shooting 800mgs at a time, twice a day. Pretty much enough to kill a bull elephant. I looked at the situation and decided I had to quit and went cold turkey. For 2-3 weeks I was shitting my brains out, and sweating like a Tijuana crack whore. Luckily I had made it through the worst of it BEFORE I got busted. I can only imagine the poor bastard who has to go cold turkey in prison. The whole time I was locked up I never thought "Man I'd love a big fat shot of morphine". My biggest craving was nicotine. Tobacco is the worst drug for me. I've tried patches, gum, zyban and all the rest, and the longest I've been able to give it up was about 9 months. I've just got a very weird brain chemistry. Unfortunately the older I get the "buzz" and foggy headedness of opiates is getting worse. I can't function on opiates anymore. Strangely enough I used to never be able to function on weed and now I can smoke a good sativa and it energizes me and makes me want to move. I experimented with dozens of varieties when I was in Europe and not all are good for my pain or give me energy but some are unbelievable how effective they are. Dr Grinspoon is awesome for pain and giving me some get up and go, Ghost train haze wakes me up, Pakistani hash is almost like amphetamine to me, and Rolex OG Kush is amazing for pain and muscle spasms/insomnia. Any way I'm getting older and my body.mind is changing. I think it's time to get away from the pharmaceuticals and go more to natural/herbal methods. I've honestly been amazed at how effective some varieties can be.
