First Time Grower--Would you look over my buy list and evaluate it Plz?

MJ -
Pop in that 400w light and 6 inch fan for extraction, if possible.
Tents are size won't give their full potential with a 250w light.

No prob !
I got yer boys back.
Can't thank you enough for all those C88 beans !
I owe you BIG TIME !!!!!!
22 plants !? I'm jealous ! lol
I have 2 DPD's (see avatar) down and should be seeing them no later than Friday.
Tap roots showed this morning and into rooters they went.
If I get that purple female, I'ma make some crosses.
You know you got some coming if you want.

Just PM me of course !
I owe you BIG TIME for all them Cindy 88 beans !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
What else you got !? lmao j/k

With a carbon scrubber, you will need a fan with high CFM's for extraction.
Pop in that 400w and a 6 inch fan, if possible.
You'll end up doing later anyways b/c you won't get the full potential from a tent our size.

FG- I was going to order a 4" Carbon scrubber and the fan is 170CFM. Do you really think I need to go with a 6" carbon scrubber in that small of a tent?

Damn dude, that's a lot of seeds. We should call you Father nature.

i've been collecting and breeding for awhile. :)

i just took a quick look at your greenhouse grow. man i'm so jealous! i'm going to spend some time going through your 2010 and 2011 threads.

nice!

Anything OG/OG related please ! lol

If you get a 400w, then most def unless you mount it JUST like mine.
We have the SAME size tents brotha.
Even with my CanFan (279 CFM's) having no bends to extract through, my ambients in the tent stay 4 - 5 degrees above the outside ambient temp in the walk-in closet.

Hey there friend. I'm actually using the same size tent and also had a 250 watt mh/hps light combo. My lamp was a Sun Lamp 2 digital lamp with the ballast basically built into the reflector. I was also using a 170 cfm vortex inline fan with the smallest carbon filter the store had.

To start off with I'm fairly sure you won't have any heat issues with your 250 watt lamp (unless that reflector gives off a ton more heat than my sun lamp did which doesn't seem likely). Your fan might be a bit too much for your room so the speed reducers are a good idea. Also, you might not need the intake fan as negative pressure seemed fine for me.

If you do decide to up the wattage on your lamp you will likely have heat issues. I decided early in my flowering stage (2 weeks ago lol) to up my wattage to 400 using the medium sized adjust a wing reflector with a super spreader. While I definitely noticed that my plants liked the extra light heat became an issue to the point where I rigged some ducting from a wall AC unit into one of the vents on my tent. Now this may have been fixed by just adding an intake air fan (like your set up) but since my grow tent is in an enclosed room I'd just be recirculating warm air into the tent. With the AC set up however my temps have become just fine, never going past 80 F and never going below 68 F. I may later try to get a temperature switch with a remote sensor (found one online for $85) to regulate the AC unit. Another easy fix to this would have been to purchase an air cooled lamp instead but I liked the light spread of the adjust a wings so I opted for that.

Other than that I'd say you'd have to get a decent hydrogometer (?), one that will give you temperature and humidity levels in 2 places as well as your maximum/minimum temps so you can get a feel of what your plants are going through when your not there. Good luck on the grow!

Hey Encomium, Thanks much for the advice, brother. Unfortunately, I won't be able to hook up anything to my AC, so that's why I opted for an intake fan. I forgot to list that I am buying 2 fan speed controllers, but if you are suggesting that heat will be an issue, maybe I need to go with a 6" Carbon scrubber. Thanks for your input...

Okay, Flo Grow. I see your point and I will take a look at some 6" carbon scrubbers with a 6" duct muffler.....

BTW, how do you have your exhaust set up in your tent? I could use some pointers. Thanks.

Good MJ, I feel a little better. lol

My exhaust fan sits on top of the outside of my tent.
I also found out, using an infrared thermometer, the exhaust ducting was giving off ambient heat.
I wrapped my rigid ducting with reflective insulated pipe wrap to keep the heat trapped in my ehaust and to muffle the air flow even more.

ALL ducting does that in our grow rooms by the way.

What you see in the pic is the pipe wrap around the rigid ducting, and black electrical tape to keep it on.
The pipe wrap is adhesive on the back side, but I wanted additional adhesion ! lol

The blue A.C. filter is just that........cheap, effective blue A.C. filter from Wally World.
I lean a piece against the outside of my tent floor vents (2 open flaps), and there's a small piece covering the inside of the tent where the CanFan exhaust right above my hood (look in top right corner).
All the great negative pressure keeps them in place !
Even when I open my tent doors.
I rinse them off in the tub weekly.
They collect SO much dust it's unreal !!
Even if I had a carbon scrubber in my tent, I'd STILL rock these filters on the outside flaps because they work !!

The digital therms you see tell my story.
The left one is showing ambient air temp on top, rez temp 2nd, and humidity 3rd.
The right side cordless model gives me all my tent readings and keeps track of the high's and low's, as you can see.

The red Igloo on the above shelf is a back up cooler. lol

The blue paint tape you see stuck my ceiling is keeping a thin, very small holed metal screen tightly in place too.
Don't want any creepy crawlers from the attic if my CanFan was to ever stop working, like a power outage.
The exhaust is so strong and hot, I doubt if any bugs are around it up in the attic.
If anything falls in.......chop, chop, chop via the fan, but it would have to be something pretty heavy for the air not to blow it out and away.

Wow, FG. You definitely have your shit down pat. Looks nice. I never thought about getting an AC filter for the 2 flaps at the bottom of the tent...Also, I just ordered the same Acurite hygrometer as you have...Liked the layout of it. Thanks for the pics. It gives me more ideas for my tent.
