Hey thought id throw my little input on this for my fellow CFL growers Just because I hate Using Hps/MH lights as they get very hot and im always afraid somethings going to mess up and light my cabinet on fire.. Haha ANYWAYS.
For cfl vegging and flower I suggest just getting a couple 125w cfl light bulbs of ebay for like $30 you will Need a e26 - Mogul adapter to use most of these lights because they are massive they Look like this http://www.ebay.ca/itm/5Pcs-Adapter...093039?hash=item2819e46faf:g:I~EAAOSwLnBXVjeV ..You can get them for alot cheaper! this is just an example!! Now For me personally I dont want anyone to know I grow so I try to keep everything as light proof and smell proof as possible for Light proofing I Found weather proofing strips to work amazingly well I will post pictures of them below! Secondly for smell I HIGHLY RECOMMEND getting a Carbon Filter I went without a carbon filter for 5 plants and could smell them from my outside my house..lol. If you are unaware of the bulbs to purchase Id get 2 125w 6500K Bulbs if youre wanting to take using cfl's seriously and 2 2700k 125 cfl's aswell to match!.. When i run flower with cfl's I likes to Put a couple regular 23w 6500K cfl's in with the 2700k's as it seems to give me a denser bud then without! Another beautiful thing for cfl's Is LST.. Lst is super important with cfl's as their light penetration is best at about 2-3 inches!! Lsting will help with and even canopy for light to blast all the lower buds through a scrog screen! In the last image you will see the weather proofing i am talking about I highly highly highly recommend people who would like to have discreet grows as it works amazingly!
