just going by the algae on the top i would guess they are pretty water logged ..... if you let them dry up some they will probably take off .... pretty green plants though

I don't see algae? I do see some weeds (no pun intended) sprouting around the edges of the cups-
And...the plants don't -look- overwatered.
Curious about the soil but the kids look happy :) good luck!

thats why i quit using 5 gals, if you get heavy handed with the water the tap wont spread like it should and they stunt or stall

That's what I get for looking on my phone lol
I'm still wondering what the soil is - since its obviously got other seeds in it....and not a lot of perlite.
OP, how does the soil drain when watering?

are your buckets really heavy ?
No buckets are all adout 20lbs and they drain well. There is a layer about 2in thick of porous rock at the bottom to help with draining and to keep drain holes from plugging up. Soil is organic composted forest, Guano, wormcastings, sphagnam, and some perlite.
