hi everybody, this is not only our first grow but our first time participating in any forum of any sort so hello again!
well my girlfriend and i took it upon us over the summer to grow medical marijuana in an indoor hydro setup. we built this box to be stealthy and its dimensions are roughly 3x4x6. of that our two plants have a grow area of 3x2x5. we built the box from the floor up with some wood and kept ventilation in mind, exhaust on the top with intake on the bottom. we just recently purchased a 400w digital ballast and are currently flowering with a 400w hps cooltube with a custom fan pushing through (i know we ought to pull but its complicated..) we have the entire interior lined with reflective tape (which we will switch out to white reflective plastic for the next grow). other than an intake fan at the bottom, we have a custom dwc hydroponics system with a res of roughly 5 gallons. and the roots are effing huge.
so this is our baby, we named her daisy.
she spent 4 weeks in veg and we scrogged her i think we did quite well. she is now in her 46th day of flower and shes just now starting to bulk up.
nutes:
flora duo
cal mag
hydroplex
berry sweetener

let us know what you think! any tips are welcome, we want the buds to be super potent and fat!
any previous ak growers please fill us in on your past experiences!

They look good a little burnt but still look like happy plants. And the 47days is a myth mine usually go for 56 to 58 days and I usually cut early for the head high lol

looks way good you can bump to 14 hrs of light in the last two weeks to increase yield. So i've heard. im always doing perpetual grows so i can't F with the lights for my ones that are only a month into flower

Yes, thank you very much. We like to think that our girl is happy too. But we figured it was nute burn :(
We think that it might be the EC being too high? Any suggestions with that? We don't have an EC meter yet.
if you dont mind how much yield did you get per plant?

how long did you let her veg for? ours is only four weeks
we were actually kinda worried about her flowering time because we read up in so many different articles that aks were supposed to flower for only 50 to 70 days.
and thank you for the compliments. we were growing virgins until Daisy so we wanted to give her as much love as possible so the burnt tips really made us worry.

Burnt tips just too much to quick, I hardly ever grow the same exactly and veg time just depends as well like I said I grow in soil so I don't want her to big that ill need to transplant into bigger pot bit do run some plants in 30 gal from time to time and just veg her until that big ass pot it full or I just can't let her get any bigger for fear of outgrowing her room lol. If you let her go to far past harvest time your potency will take a hit and she will probably hermie out on ya

Thanks for the tips. We have lowered her nutes a bit. And since we're running a hydro set up we just give her a little fresh ph'd water to make sure we're not over nute'ng her again. But as you can see in the pics she hasn't quite recovered yet from the burn.

The damaged parts will stay like that...they never heal 100% , they can come back from fading in color but once damaged/burned they will stay that way...but sounds like you did the right thing and she will be fine....almost finished anyways...:bigjoint:

Thanks a lot! We figured that the burnt tips wouldn't heal and now she's getting some color back in her. Other than the normal dying fan leaves at the bottom we'd like to think that she's doing ok. Now we're just keeping a close eye on her and crossing our fingers and hoping for a high yield :D

you'll def get a high yield. You should get a 30x jewelers microscope. They're like 15 bucks and they'll allow you to look at the trichs and harvest at the right time. Most go between 20 and 50 percent ambers depending on what you like. closer to 20 and its more head high and 50 is more body high due to more cbd. you dont really want to go much more than 50% amber trichomes. Way to go man. These last two weeks or so are great cause they really bulk up nicely. have fun with that

Just curious how warm it is at the very tops of the tall buds. In the pic they look close, and i don't know if it heat stress or nute burn. Are they happier since you backed off the nutes. rule of thumb is if you cant hold your hand there for any length of time its too warm for your plants. I would LST either way to keep your canopy more even. LST is low stress training basically tying it off to the side

She's actually not too close to the light. And there isn't a problem with holding our hand there! Thanks though! :D
She is doing better with the lowered nutes. It's just kinda sad seeing her burns though.
We were expecting her to really start packing on weight now so we really appreciate you giving us facts from your experience. We can't wait to see how much she yields!!
