The growth I've seen in my set up is amazing and completely blows my soil grow away, no doubt! And my set up is not at all legit lol its lacking alot of what is "required" to have a successful grow but is still thriving!

Im sure once I get the meters, full line up of nutes, and my CFL light fixture on point these buds will grow hella nice!

On another note, I can NOT clone! Ive tried a few times and each time has been FAILURE! I understand how its supposed to be done but It just doesnt work for me.

Questin though, Ive read a few times, cant recall where, that clones wont grow to be the same as the plant you take the cutting from in regard to size, potency, etc. Is that true? If thats the case then Illl just start from seed each time!

I cloned a fem LSD and it was shorter but that may have been the fact that I flowered at 12" rather than 14-16" but otherwise it was an exact copy and the buds are as potent as the mother maybe better because I learned what the plant liked nute wise the second time around. Did clone the clone with equal success.

Cloning take hella patience, a little luck and timing. Also some strains are a B to clone so don;t get discouraged. I used a daisy cloner the last couple fo times but I have a mystic cloner for this go round, thanks to RM. I can do 16 plant sites now so the 18 plant capacity of the cloner will be perfect.

Awesome I guess Ill just keep trying it out. I got some cloning powder from lowes and a bunch of 1x1 rockwool cubes (200 of em, ebay lol) so Ill ry till I get it right!

What do you think og this light set up?

I hesitate to buy any lights used. They may light up but in some cases the lumens are shot. For about the same price you can get this:

I've have 250 HPS only but the same brand, hood, etc. Puts out some heat but not unmanagable. Think you can manage a little heat in the grow room?

Yea heat shouldnt be an issue, ive got a big fan in there now and can add more, if need be i can open the closet doors to let the heat disperse.

I would love to upgrade to some HIDs! Just need to get all my other supplies in check too, mostly nutes.

In my opinion, yes. It makes the buds denser as a reaction to the increased light availability.

My T5 was 350.00 at a hydro store. I think I got hosed but I didnt know any better then.

Ok so I thnk my plan is buy some bloom nutes today and maybe a ppm/tds meter when I get paid, than 2 weeks from now Ill get me a HID set up so I can stick it in there for the last part of the grow.

I put them into 12/12 yesterday and stuck the 2500K 42watters in there for them. theres 4 42watters and 2 26watt daylights.

What do you think of that set up?

Ill probably get some more 42 watters today from HD.

Trick with cfl's and production is to fit as many in as you can. They make handy side lights for HID lights also.

IF you flowering with CFLs only, you have to get the bulbs VERY close to the top colas and place a bulb on each side of the buds to grow a bud dense. Those 42s 2700k bulbs are cheap and easy to hang all over the plants.

Flowering Started about 4 days ago, they are on 12/12 now, lights on at night to keep temps up in there, starting to get cold here.

Unfortunately No bloom nutes, no more lights due to financial reasons, all in all I think its looking o for a low budget VERY simple grow. Im using some superthrive to hopefully add some nutes in "place" of the bloom. Still have the micro and the grow.

Should I cut off the grow nutes now completely or add a small amount since I dont have bloom?

Any input as always is much appreciated!

Hopefully Ill be able to get me a smaller HID light soon for the end of this grow or the beginning of the next.

IF you do not have any BLOOM nutes, go to half vEG nutes.

Walmart and Lowes have BLOOM BOOST that can be used in very small amounts.

how soon after starting 12/12 should I start to see changes? I dont see much going on in the room with the change in lighting. Ive got them close to the plants t make better use of my lack of lighting.

Got some free seeds in the mail today from attitude. 1 Royal Kush feminized and 5 Thai S-Skunk regular. M first non bagseed - seeds !

Checked on the plants and there was actually alot of growth in the past 2 days that i hadnt looked at them. Ill post up pics in a few minutes

Well that perfectly normal that they would shot up after 12/12. Every grow does that. As far as how long before you see anything, I would say somewhere in the 10 day to 2 week area is about right.

On some strains you can see preflowers which are like two little wispy white hairs that come out in pairs. There will also be some single spikes that sort of look like they are maybe sort of preflowers but they are singles and meaningless. The males will come first and they have a little stalk with a little ball or cluster of balls like the card suit - clubs at the end.

Nice freebies! That Thai may get tall and is a nice cross ( I love skunk strains) but the Royal Kush is something I've heard good things about.

I hope I see some female preflowers. I remember what the males look like from my soil grow, I had way too many of the bastrds lol

Im excited about the freebies! my first non-bagseeds! Should I grow the 2 strains 2gether or would that not be recommended?

well heres some pics of the progress!

They are mismatched for a grow together. The Royal Kush should be done after 9-10 weeks in flower with the afghani and Skunk genetics but the Thai S Skunk is at 12-14 weeks. The height is a question as both say they are medium whatever that is. But if the phenos are right I'd bet that Thai could get big being a sativa. If it has skiny leaves it's gonna get big. Maybe a couple of buckets would be better after you start them in the BP or at least one in case they don't match up well.

Looks like 2 of the 4 are male for sure. 1 im undecided and the last is looking like a girl. the 2 biggest sure enough are the males. Shitty deal but i guess it was expected!

Yep, always seems like the strongest plants are the males. Best thing is that during the flower the ladies really come into their own! At this point the longer it takes to show the more chance you have of getting a female.
