Well heres the updated pic of my all but 1 male bush. Out of the 4 only 1 is a female.

Should I just let them grow and try to make hash out of the males and keep what I can off the banged female?

I hate to chop them down seeing as how they are majority male, i dont expect to gt much out of 1 female anyways. Its also the smallest one so no high hopes here.

Whats your opinions?

Dont think Ill be trying another grow until I get PPM meters and better lights set up. this is my 2nd attempt and once again hasnt worked out the way i wanted.

I hate to tell you but plants that do not feel the love, turn into males or hermies.

Platns that do feel loved, turn into females.

Normal is expect half and half, you got a bad split!

I say you chop the males and give the whole tank to the female and watch her grow. Now she's have plenty of room and won't be small for long. ou'll also learn the whole process and be more confident on your next grow. Might I suggest fem seeds next time. Also you could learn to clone and take your next grow off your current female.

Hey Southbuds thanks for the thread ! I read through rosemans tutorial and after seeing your first bubble grow I gotta try this method. Im currently putting a room together and should be a 12 wide by 6 deep by 8 tall . I have a 600 watt hps and looks like a side by side soil and bubbleponics is in order. I was amazed at the growth with just a few cfl ! Makes it very obvious that the cfl with reflectors would work fine for vegging . I was a bit reluctant to tackle the ph and ppm game but the increase in growth is unreal. Im thinking a 6x6 with cfl for vegging and then a 6x6 with 600 watt hps for flowering . This way i could do a perpetual grow. Anyone have a specific strain favorite for bubbleponics ? Seems mostly indica would work best ? Thanks again ! Scribed !

I'm kind of a nut over the Barney's Farm LSD. All fems. It grow wide and the height is limited to around 3'. It can also take the nutes and keeps growing strong even if you screw up as new to hydro growers are bound to do. Veg for 5-6 weeks and flower for 8. Started out getting about 2 1/2 oz per plant on my first grow but now I've done 4 grows with it and got it up to about 3 1/2 oz per plant. I veg it at about 3/4 nutes and hit it with a full dose in flower. No nutes until you see 4 real edged leaves.

Yea I got the shit end of that deal! I', pretty sure it was due to the low maintanace that I was providing for the plants, yes they were easy to take care of but I didnt have all the necessary tools and I didnt put in the required time to make them perfect. It was amazing to watch them grow though so fast!

Thats what I really want to do, learn how to clone cause I've tried before but failed each time! It would be nice to see a female plant go through the whole flower process!

Anyone got any tips for easy cloning? I Cut the top at an angle, apply rooting powder and stick it in a rockwool cube then keep it moist but I never get roots!

Hey No problem! It was unbelievably easy to pull this grow together with very little money and effort. The plants loved the hydro set up too, the rate of growth was amazing! I also have a whole room I want to use for growing but I wanted to keep it small scale first to understand what I was doing before I had a whole room of bud and I didnt know what the fuck was going on lol Your set up sounds awesome though Im saving money for a HID Light system myself so good luck on yours, youll be amazed by the growth you see with bubbleponics.

Ill deffinitley look into this strain. The seeds I got for free were my first ever non-bagseed strain, Ive been reluctant to buy seeds until I fully understand what im doing with my grows but 75% males really sucks ass so Im thinking about some feminized seeds.

I'd like to see your female grow big and strong.. give her the love she deserves haha
I think Ill chop the males down and just let the girl flourish!

Do I just chop off the plants at the base of the stemm then chop the root mass that goes along with each one?

Will that harm the only girl in the bunch at all?

Thank everyone for all the great feed back and advice! Much appreciated!

You can chop the male roots no prob. I think Roseman even has a detailed post about the process. Can't find it at the moment, i'll look. As for cloning, it's the one part of MJ growing I feel confident on. To date i've had a 90% success rate with my clones, and I'm a total newb. Here's some tips.

A. Keep things clean. You wanna sterilize your cutting equipment to prevent problems. (I don't always do this as well as I should, It's just a preventative measure.)

B. Get Clonex! Yes, the rooting powders work. But I've used both, and clonex rocks! If you think about it, it makes sense. A gel would help to seal the cut and prevent air bubbles or stem rot.

C. Keep it simple, and be patient. I've cloned using several different ways, at the moment, I use a simple bubbler, a few makeshift humidity domes, and rockwool cubes that's it. It can take some plants up to 2 weeks to root! Keep em moist and happy and they WILL root!

D. also very important, keep your mother plant happy, it'll help your chances. I take my clones from the top shoots, and then give the leaves on the clone a light trim so they don't have to support all the foliage and hopefully focus on rooting.

hope this helps. ask questions when or if you have them. =)

When you clone the biggest mistake I have seen by most is that they leave too many leaves on the clone. I remove all but two leaves close to the growing tip. The theory is that with two many leaves you give the plant too much to do to try to support the growth and they rot before they root.

Same Here MC, my clones are usually 4" tall, two sets of leaves (nicely trimmed), and then they're on their own. lol.

So about 4 inches is good and trim the majority of the foliage to let it concentrate on roots not feeding that. cool I understand that

do you think that the more airstones you used helps?
When I added airstones (more of them) the plants really seemed to like it. One thing id like to get is an industrial Air pump t0 really get some bubbles going on
