I did a little more trimming today and even more hairs are popping out now. I'll post some more pics in the next few days. They don't look too much different from the last pics right now although the largest one stretched 2 inches last night.

Ok here are some pics from today. They are growing like crazy and stretching an inch a day. I dropped my ppm's to 550 because at 700 they were starting to burn. The extra air pump I got was one of the best purchases I made. The roots are thriving and fill almost the entire 5 gal buckets.

I just did another 1/3 water change yesterday and added even more flora bloom and cal mag. I have not once done a complete res change this entire grow and I'm not planning on it. This goes to show that res changes are unnecessary if you maintain proper conditions. I'm letting the PH swing up to 6.2 so they can absorb a little more magnesium. They looked like they needed it. I can already tell today they look better. More hairs are appearing on the plants and the roots look as healthy as ever. I've been adding more frozen water bottles to my chiller and it stays colder longer. I switch them out every morning now instead of twice a day. The water gets a little colder but the plants don't seem to mind.

Your using the lucas formula right? Their has been lots of people that dont do reservoir swaps and come out with great results.. But i do def agree that it depends on how well you maintain what your doing.. I actually havnt done any reservoir swaps yet either and have had great results.. I do plan to do one here pretty soon though, i figure a couple weeks into flower will be a good time..

How are they looking?

Phelps I'm not using the lucas formula. I'm using the whole GH Flora 3 part, grow, micro, and bloom. I haven't used any recommended feeding charts or schedules, I just kinda came up with my own as I went along.
Someguy yeah the roots exploded after I bought the second air pump. Definitely one of my best purchases. The plants responded to it almost immediately.

I just took some pics and I'll give a quick update. I just trimmed off 2 more lower branches that I missed before. Now the only branches left are the ones that get direct light. There is plenty of air circulating around the branches now and everything is looking good. They haven't slowed down stretching at all and are about 3 feet tall now. I've had to raise the light almost every day since I started flowering. One strange thing is that my PH had an upward swing before and now that I switched to bloom the PH swings down. Everything looks fine though. The main cola regions are starting to fill in with hairs and nodes. I can't wait to start seeing the buds form. The roots have all filled the bottom halves of the buckets and are looking healthier than ever. I'm expecting a good harvest...

I added a few more gallons to my res today. For some reason my water level dropped significantly the past 2 days. They must have been thirsty or maybe the change of nutes had something to do with it. Also I have changed my PH routine. I now let it drop to 5.7 then I raise it to 6.2, they seem to be looking better this way. I added more nutes and a little more cal mag because they looked like they could handle it, so now my PPM's are at 1010. If they start to burn I'll dilute the res with more plain water.

On a side note I was looking into doing zero veg my next time around and thought a couple of the Hydrofarm Megagardens would be great. Anybody have experience with these? HERE'S THE LINK

HERE IS ANOTHER ONE - I was just looking at this as well. Anyone done ebb and flow before?

I have done ebb & flo from the start. If you want to save some dough...order a botanicare or similar tray (~100) a set of flood and drain fittings (~12) some silicone and build your own little system. 2x4's & other supplies from home depot will run you maybe 20-30 bucks. Use a roughneck rez or you can buy a real rez if u have dough to shell out. IMO the tray is the only thing that MUST be purchased, you can DIY most of the rest. My setup cost about 200 bucks for everything. 3x3 tray, 30 gal rez, 350 gph pump.
