First Grow

Week 17, 8 weeks in flower. At this point they are what they are, they are just getting water the rest of the way out to flush out any residual nutes. #1 will probably be the first harvested, it seems to be the most mature. I'm going to flower out the clones in 1 gal pots and change the type I am growing to something with a little sweeter smell.

Try GPS seeds, strain Pebble Pusher. Very sweet smelling and taste. Easy to grow.

Terracotta pots are for house plants. Upgrade to fabric pots, 3-3 gallon pots with some plastic saucers underneath less than $20. Good first grow!!! You made it to harvest!!!
I live in a very dry climate (NorCal) which is why I didn't do fabric pots, I would be watering twice a day I think even with the swamp cooler I have. I am going to pick up some clones from a retail outlet nearby. Dark Heart nursery supplies the clones to them. Looking at Dream Queen (green crack) Cookies, GG4, Midnight Splendor....and others. Pulled #1 and it was root bound, could have been the problem when finishing up. The terra cotta planters are 12" diameter, I used them because I knew they would breathe a bit. I'll look into the fabric pots. I'll probably have to run AC next summer with the swamp cooler. When we get a north wind humidities can drop into the teens for a week or so, and temps to 105 plus. I have time to kill because of flowering out the clones, can't bring myself to just pull them. I also have some mylar to put up on the walls, I was waiting until I had more room with the big plants gone.

I’m putting my chemdog grow in 7 gallon fabric pots in coco . It’s a first for both, ive always used 5 gallon buckets and soil.
Mine is some skunky shit. Not what I want to grow. I guess with a name like Chemdawg I should have figured it out eh?

Instead of cutting to straight water ... you SHOULD taper off feed ... and be on a bloom nute only.

It usually stops needing much nitrogen after week 6 , as flower begin bulk and maturity.

Also ... more importantly...
You have more weeks to go. Buds will swell , pistils will color and recede.
If you cut too early , you screwed the pooch . The whole idea is to cut when RIPE NOT BY HOW LONG IT WAS GROWING.

chemdog can smell like a rotten road kill skunk . It may mellow up nice after it’s cured up nice. I wonder how many seed banks are selling the real types of weed they claim . This run I’m doing crop king and sun west genetics . I ordered 10 black diamond from bc seed king . It seems there’s so many bad reviews about canadien seed company’s .

I have been checking trichomes and the amount of pistils that have browned. There are some good pics on growweedeasy.com showing ripe and non ripe buds. The timing and quantities of bloom nutes I am still working on, so many differing views on this subject. I only harvested one of the plants I felt was ready. The other two still have too many white pistils, so I agree with you on that. My camera hates the lighting so it makes them look whiter than they are, I have to tweak the images after I take them.

Also resist taking flash photos as they tend to highlight triches which may not show TRUE maturity.
Normal light ... good loupe .

Thanks. I have a halogen work light I can move in for pics in warm light. I use a 30X loupe, the greater magnification on it is too small for my bad eyes and shaky hands to use.

Thank You. California is not all Malibu and Hollywood, even in SoCal there is a growing season for outdoors. It hasn't froze here for awhile because of clouds but before the storms rolled in we had frost every night. It has gotten down into the teens before but not often, the 20's are not unusual. I made a light fixture from fluorescent strip lights (free) and rewired them for dual end powered ballast bypass LED lights (the cheap ones from Amazon, $30 for 4) The first lights I bought were "full spectrum" however they were highly exaggerated in output in the listing. I am using them in combination with 8 dual row T8 LED's.
