First grow everyone plz read and reply

my first grow as a solo grower was Auto Northern lights an boy did i have fun on that. but i had a minor setup 125 cfl so i wasnt preparing fior a huge harvest. but managed i believe 1 zip out of it. so for beginners solo luck, id say i did well.


after than it was a fun game of trying to improve from the first harvest an grow and wise up as my growing experince slowly began to mature with my grows.

many growers already DO post there beginners growdiarys as new threads, and that maybe why many dont post here themjkid22.

So dont feel offended if not everyone posts here. the indoor grow diary subforms usually packed with newbie diarys even this subform has alot fo them to.

curiosuk- i wasnt offened at all i was just trying to make a thread that newbs could read and have a few little things from some ppl that would give them a easy to use reference so they didnt have to go to every single members page and read their diary way to many of us on here to do that it would take forever just figured a quick over view of some things would be helpful

1. Shop around and compare prices. An local hydro or good plant shop is more than an hr drive away from me so I ordered my FoxFarm planting mix and literally paid twice as much for it than I should have. 2 cu ft ended up being $70 bucks. Not cost efficient in my opinion but it was my own mistake for rushing and buying the first I saw. Next grow, $50 is getting me 3 cu ft of soil. Much cheaper.
2. Keep a journal. Maybe it's just me but m memory lacks sometimes and it really helps to be able to go back and look at when I watered, changed lights, transplanted, etc etc.
3. Plan your grow room out well. Make sure to cover floors well with plastic covering and make sure that excess water is not going to cause a problem. It's really hard to clean up a mess once you're a few weeks in.
4. Understand that not everyone is a pro and everyone's advice is not always going to work for you. each grow is different.

First grow: 400w HID MH/HPS, 4 plants, organic bagged soil, bottled organic nutes (Roots Organics Grow & Bloom), 3 gal plastic containers, no trimming natural grow. yield 2.25 oz per plant



Upgrades: LED Area 51 160w, up to six plants per grow, 1-3-5gal Geopots with Velcro seams, bagged amended organic soil (Roots Organics Potting Soil) baked 30 days before use (just add water to harvest), topped, LST'd, and SCROG. yield 2.6 oz per plant.



All grows are in a stealth closet 2' x 3' x 10' grow area. Learned a lot and still learning.

Thanks man, just sharing the success and failures I've had at the hand of Mother Nature. Peeps on RIU have saved my ass more than once, grateful they're here.
