I started with a ridiculous amount of clones, that were off of a mother plant who was just a bag seed. Here's what i messed up for any other noobs who may be looking for pointers:
-One plant per pot, use big pots.
-Don't use miracle grow, it'll kill everything
-Dont water daily, after switching to watering once every 4-5 days i could see magnificent change.
-Don't over nute, as matter of fact the only plant that survived of mine was the one that i gave NO nutes to until it was flowering.
-Dont use foil, reflective sheeting at lowes = $8
-More light, always
-temp = 81 degrees day / 65 night
-Air intake and outake is FAR more crucial than i ever thought, dont go without.
-DONT change pots while flowering, i murdered so many ):
-think about it less, time passes quicker :D

Anyways, here's how my one surviving miraclegrow/heat frustrated/fanless/foil burnt/overwatered/rerooted bagseed clone looks like:

So, at least marijuana is a strong ass plant. Any helpful hints as to what im doing wrong (if anything)? EVERYTHING is red except the leaves. The popcorn seeds at the bottom are looking sexy though, about an inch tall. The plant in its entirety is about three ft tall, still stuck with miracle grow and little to no nutes. Water it about every five days, got 7 CFLs ranging spectrums (2700 and 6500), along with two t12s and reflective sheeting.

Dude your stems are so red, isn't that a sign of lack of nutrients? And as for transplanting I've transplanted my flowering girls before, I just made sure I disturbed the roots as little as possible and repotted it with the same combo of soil.

Miracle grow is definately not top of the line but it doesnt kill everything. You just shouldnt use nutes if you are using the enriched miracle grow and you have to monitor your PH closely but I have done well on Miracle grow before. There are better products out there, but it wasnt the miracle grow that killed your plants ;)

first off, i was so absolutely obliterated when i created this topic that i didnt realize it was my thread just now when i clicked on it. lol, i apologize for the obnoxious amount of pictures i took of one plant.

Isn't white window a pretty challenging strain?

dude i really dont know, the entire plant's red aside from the leaves. I looked at some deficiencies and burns and didn't see anything about red stems, only red leaves. Also it's sister clone was a fucking weird plant- it had red stems from birth and grew about two foot before it autoflowered and made really excellent weed. Then at two or three weeks i xferred that one because it was in a small pot, and it died ;/

not bad for first grow! should be proud, you learned alot....enjoy your bud....peace

thanks man ^.^

Does the miracle grow tend to have lower or higher PH's? When i tested my soil (i think a week or two ago) it was at 6.4, but i had to water it with 6.1ph for like two weeks to get it at that point. Im guessing the soil was around 7ph wheni purchased it, but i didnt have test kits back then.

Also is there a growth ratio (yeild-wise) that you can know from the flowering stage? I saw in another topic a guy said that he was 5 weeks into flowering and expected the yeild to double by the time he hit 9

Bump! I looked it up and I think its phospherous deficiancy. Is phosphate in my nutes the same thing?

another good tip

always water until you get like 10-20% runoff
the runoff is how the built up nutes escape from the medium
this helps prevent ph from fluctuating
and measure ph of runoff to know what ur medium is up to
if ur ph gets knocked outta whack then ur plant cannot take up any nutrients
and starts showing signs of all these different deficiencies, making u change nutes around trying to fix it
when all along its ur ph

I've looked into this Red stem thing and its cause of not enough, Nitrogen, Phosphorus, Potassium and Magnesium, and also since you were using MG you would need a lower dosage for your Nutes

Huh. nice to see that Miracle Grow can work, but I'm still hesitant to use it.

Just knowing it's not designed for MMJ makes me stay the heck away from it. But hell, good luck!

.

My experience Miracle grow PH is a little high, probably due to the nutrients they enrich their soil with. Like I said, Miracle grow is not ideal for MJ growing but you can have success as long as you keep your PH in check and use the right nute regiment. I have a White Widow in flowering right now that has been in Miracle grow organic for the duration and she is looking magnificent. As for yeild, there is no was this guy knows what he will get from week 5 to week 9 for sure. He might be able to give an educated guess based on strain, environment, and experience, but every grow is different and your best bet on yield is to take the wait and see approach.

I harvested. The trichs were mostly cloudy, i finally got a real microscope to check. It was getting so sickly that i just figured better late than never, and some people on the help forums suggested i harvest.

Here's some pics of my first harvest. I'm pretty disappointed, i started with far more hoping for far more, ended up with little to nothing.

I don't feel like I should post a new topic about this, so ill post in this topic. I just ordered fox farms ocean forest for my next grow, how long will I need to wait before adding nutes?

Nice grow, I hope my first plant finish like yours. Wish I had bag seeds like yours!! lol +respect on your 1st grow.

There are enough nutes in the ff for 10 to 14 days. Just PH your H2o, and don't overwater.

This is my first attempt @ growing.

reddish purple stems are not such a problem. Miracle grow soil isnt terrible, just understand it already has nutes in it, so a lot of people will add nutes to that and thats when things die. you plant looks good man.
