this is my plant after 2 weeks from topping her, 1 month old as of tomorrow:mrgreen:

i plan to flower very soon, with either 6 26w CFL's or a 150w HPS

shes only about 10 inches talll:blsmoke:

man well its defintily growing well. haha funny spot. is it growing beside your driveway fence? good luck with it..you might have to worry about digging the roots up..
 
sweet grow, I like the top job, use combo of hps and cfl for flower!!!

Get those Cfls on the sides. Both of those, cfl and hps, could probably do an equal job on their own, so combo them.
 
Looking good buddy, but would have to agree with Hippiepower's comment, wouldnt go digging up the roots aye, weed grows some pretty horrific roots. Also would definitely recommend a 400 watt HPS with sonT gro bulb over any cfl or HID. The 400watt'r is heaps more value for money too if you are growing more than a couple of plants, 150 hps is good too but would probably work out cheaper in the long run plus a tonne more lumins. cheers

hippie : yeah your write but im going to dig it up soon, when i plant to flower, if i cut a few roots , what will that do to her??

colem- ive got to dig it up sometme, im not having it outside the whole grow, im thinkin about using CFL's the first couple weeks, then finish it off with a 150 watter.
not much i know, but im only hoping to get maybe a half oz. from this plant.

You'll be sweet with cfls mate, just contain the area (box it off to contain the light). cheers!
 
yeah thats what i was thinking, if used like milar or something around my grow area to contain it in.
i was thinking about silver wrapping paper (X-mas paper) would that work too???

i also heard it slows down the flowering process when using CFL's is that true?
 
Yeah mate, wrapping paper works a treat! helps direct the light heaps better than plain old white.
Not sure about the flowering process with cfls, but i can say you'll get less yield through the veg cycle with cfls compared to hps. cheers.
 
Im pretty sure that some wrapping paper is mylar, very cheap and good =D... Just make sure yours looks like mylar(the inside of bag of chips..etc)

I don\'t think CFLs slow down anything, they can rival a HPS granted you have the same coverage..wattage etc.
 
oh okay, so no need to spend all the money on mylar when you can use wrapping paper :)
lol dont you mean the flower cycle?
im hoping to get around a half oz. - a full oz. for this little girl
 
I think it is very hard to get the same wattage and amount of lumins from a cfl compared to a hps.... but feel free to correct me if I am wrong. The best way to find this out is google it. Cfls may not slow things down, but will give a weaker yield. cheers
 
If you don\'t think CFLs can do the trick, it is time you search the forums. Of course a HPS is great for a bunch of plants, but lil 27w CFLs strategically surrounding a single plant or a few plants will give large yields.
 
Na thats sweet Soulfly, like i said im only going off what i have read and been told about cfls. I have only ever used HPS.

Mrxgreenthumbx you should be sweet doing it the way Soulfly has explained. Either way, aslong as you get a decent oz you'll be happy. Cheers
 
okay i made my mind, for the first 2 or 3 weeks in going to use 6 CFL's
then to finish it off im going to buy a small HPS system.
just gave her some watter with a lil mollasses in it, see what it will do.
i plan to start flowering this weekend !! woohoo!!! :D:D

yeah, im starting flowering this weekend,
im only using 138 watts of CFL's and ive got just under 11,000 lumens..
ive got a question.. is my plant an indica/sativa
cuz at night when the leaves are laying down, its looks lindica, but during the day, the leaves seem to slim down some and looks like a sativa, its strange
