Your grow is lookin real good man, we literally germinated on the same day haha.

It is fun to follow your thread even though your plants look larger than mine :( I have/had the same over watering problem you do. I was giving way too much water for a while and from what I read even 1 water per 24 hours can bee too much sometimes. Its crazy, I guess Im just used to animals more than plants haha. You would think a little seedling would die after more than a day or so without water, guess not.

I picked up a moisture meter at the local hardware/garden store here, they sell them at home depot too. It is verry handy, every time I think the soil is dry I end up with a reading of 3, and the highest (wet) is 4. It was only $6 I would recommend it to any over watering newbie haha.

KB: Yeah the moisture meter is a nice tool, I have an old school one with moisture ratings from 1-8 and it does its job. I haven't had near the problems since I've been using it. I just gave a good soak when I transplanted all the girls into 8" pots and I probably wont water for another 3 or 4 days. I think something should be made that shows a "normal watering frequency" under certain set variables like.. How often to water a plant at 2" in a 16oz. cup. or 1 foot plant in a 5 gallon bucket.. etc. Maybe like a progression chart or something just as a rough guide. Obviously all plants are going to be different but a "maximum" amount as decided per size and environment could be a HUGE help for new growers. I dunno, just some thoughts.

Anyhow, so far so good with the plants. There is some yellowing happening on the lower fan leaves of the larger two plants but all new sprouts look green and healthy. I think they may have a slight nitrogen deficiency? I'll get a picture up here in a bit to show what I'm talking about.

The smaller supposed Sour Diesel are growing a lot better now and the leaves definitely appear to be more narrow than the other two plants for their size. I don't know if this is normal or if there is a plant problem. I attributed this to the strain genetics having more sativa than indica? I dunno, pictures will be here at some point. Thanks to everyone for following and all your input is appreciated :)

Grow looks good man! Awesome that you and KB started the same day - really wish I had had someone to directly compare and learn from.

All looks good to me - Like someone else said, you might want to put better reflective material in the box - not so much to keep stealth but because if light is escaping like that it means less is being utilized. Tin foil is what I use but it will make that little box HOT HOT HOT.

Here is the update for Day 14 from sprout:

Plants:
Not a whole lot of difference besides some growth and yellowing of the older bottom leaves. I think this is due to a nitrogen deficiency so I'll be adding some 5-1-1 organic fish emulsion at the next feeding. The plants all show growth and even the one I thought I was going to lose looks to be making steady progress. The one I thought I was gonna lose has the two bottom fan leaves cut in half because the leaves were dying completely. New growth and nodes are appearing on each plant and everything looks to be going a lot better now than before. The transplant may have stressed the plants a little but it definitely didn't slow their growth.

Temps Humidity:
My temps are a consistent 65lo-85hi and my humidity stays between 21% and 30%.

Changes/Additions:
I added a DIY co2 bottle. Just add water sugar and yeast, pop a hole in the lid and shake daily. This should give a better co2 supplementation to the plants. I was worried I may not get enough in the rubbermaids with just fans. Figured it couldn't hurt :)

Pictures:
The first two pictures are the "Thai Chron Dros" and the last two are the Sour Diesels. The third picture is the plant I thought wouldn't make it and I trimmed the dead ends of the bottom leaves. All new growth on this plant looks just fine and it seems that the only complaint I have about it is that it's growing a little slower. As you can see, my plants weren't stunted at all by transplanting. They are growing faster now than they were in the cups :) It's so exciting!

So after comparing these new pictures to the ones from a few days ago.. I can see that the plants are a lot darker green in the new growths but the bottom leaves have yellowed more. These were the leaves that were hurt during the overwatering, the new leaves since I fixed my watering have looked much healthier. Could this be the cause of the yellowing leaves or is it a nitrogen deficiency? I just want to make sure I don't cause another problem trying to fix this one. Any advice would be really helpful. Thanks guys

Thread was getting buried and I was just wondering if anyone had seen my last post and could give any advice on what to do for the yellowing. I'm going to probably need to water tomorrow and I'm not sure if I should add any nitrogen or if this will make it worse. Any help would be greatly appreciated, thanks guys!

i had the same problem my first grow.. it is either nitrogen defficiency or over/underwatering. use a pure nitrogen supplement, for instance i went with MG Organic Blood Meal and it shot my plant right back to life. once you do this you might see the leaves that have already yellowed start to die off, dont worry so much as long as you see new growth coming in. and buy a moisture wand... i cant say this enough!

Ok the pictures are in the same order that I posted the pictures before. You can see the yellowing on the bottom of the two TCD plants and the SD plants are now looking WAY greener and healthier. At first the SD plants looked as if they would be the laggers and now they look beautiful. Anywho.. Pic 1 and 2 are Thai Chron Dro and pics 3 and 4 are the SD.

I dont have the yellowing on the Sour Diesels but you can see how apparent it is on the Thai Chron Dros.. Is this an N deficiency? Whats going on? Thanks for checking this out guys.

I almost want to say the yellowing is a watering problem (most likely overwatering) - goes with the slightly droopy leaves. Might be a nitrogren deficiency but they are pretty small to be showing that. If it is give them a very very tiny amount of veg nutes. Like 1/10 strength. Look good other than that though. NIce job.

Well I haven't watered since I transplanted like 3 days ago. Could this just be remnants of the damage left from the first bout of overwatering? These leaves were already damaged before but they weren't quite as yellow as they are now, and they seem to get more yellow each day. It's only those leaves though, all newer growth is staying healthy and green.

Update for Day 17:
Today I gave the plants a few sprays each because the top couple inches of soil were bone dry. I only sprayed enough to dampen the very top layer of soil. The moisture meter said all of the plants were around a 4 out of 8 at the very bottom of the pots. That was the first water they've recieved since I transplanted them 5 days ago. As you can see, the yellowing has nearly killed the bottom set of fan leaves on the two larger plants. The 2nd leaf set has some yellowing but they don't seem to be getting worse. All new growth still appears to be very green and healthy. I added some 1/4 strength Alaska fish fertilizer to the water I sprayed the soil with today. I'm hoping the 5-1-1 solution will give them a little needed N boost without hurting them if thats what the yellowing has been caused by. I don't think this will make much difference since I gave them very little water. At the next big watering I think it should help.

Questions:
Is it safe to assume that these plants are ok because all new growth seems to be green and remain green?

If not should I be treating them for anything? (I'm still not sure if those yellowed leaves are a result of the overwatering that occurred earlier in these plants lives)

What do you guys think for day 17?

Thanks for checking out my grow!

Hey thanks for checking out my grow cloudy01. You lost your plants huh? Thats what I fear more than anything right now. It's crazy how much I care about these (hopefully) ladies. I'm holding off on really watering them for a couple days so we'll see what happens.

Should I be giving them any N? I feel like a very low dose of the 5-1-1 Fish emulsion wouldn't hurt them.. What do you guys think?

Those babies look beautiful! I'm guessing those leaves are due to water stress in the past like you guessed. I ran outa pots and started putting plants into cardboard boxes which ide water log and then would dry out to fast and shit and they kept killing the roots - transplanted and the bottom leaves never recovered - I think all the nutes in them went towards roots, but they dfinateyl recovered just like your plants. General yellowing in bottom leaves to me always indicates root damage and repair - kinda like how clones bottom leaves yellow. Def think the fish emultion is a good idea. Love the good ole simple nutes tried and true. Keep it up!

Thanks for the input Tanker! I just needed some reinforcement to make sure my suspicians were true. I'm really happy with their progress now, I feel like I'm understanding the plants more. All the reading I did still doesn't compare to this first hand experience. I'll probably have an update tomorrow or maybe later tonight, although not a whole lot has or probably will change. Now I have to go check them and make sure haha..
