First DWC Grow!!! (DinaFem Fruit Auto)

Hello everyone, this is my first post! I just planted a DinaFem Fruit Automatic bean inside a rapid rooter w/ hydroton. Currently she'll be sitting in a plant tray with more hydroton and water to keep the rapid rooter moist. I will be vegging and flowering under Quantum Badboys 6 lamp T5HO.

Nutes will be Canna Aqua line with Cannazyme and Rhizotonic.

This is my first DWC grow and first time ever using hydroton so any advice and concerns are welcome! :dunce:

I really like how Mcdonald's is helping you grow pot. McCafe lol. Nice work using the cup as a humidity dome, some times you gotta get crafty. Subbed.

came home from work today and transplanted 1 of the seedlings into a 5gal bucket with just plain water ph'd to 5.6~ish

currently she's running with a petco brand air pump and 4" air stone

great work so far man just one question how high is your water level, you may have to hand water them for a little till they get a little bit more roots but looks good.

i set the water level about 1/2" into the net pot, if that makes sense. the second net pot with the rooted seedling is just barely above the water line inside the main net pot so it gets bubbled water splashed just near the bottom of the rapid rooter.

i noticed this morning i had to water the plug since it looked completely dry on the top, but i imagine the bottom is pretty moist.

how does everyone else set their water levels?

Update for today, looks like the roots are finally touching the water!

pH 5.5~5.6 (same per bucket)
water temps: 70F
ambient: 72F
ppm: 330ppm (same per bucket)

Yesterday I decided to switch over to a RDWC and added a 3rd bucket as the res. Also scored a 150w 6700k MH, looks to be an old fish tank light?

Found the temperatures around 71~72F, so I bought a chiller off of craigslist for cheap! Says its 1/15th HP, not sure what that equates to for cooling power. But it works! Temps stay at a steady 68 (which I set at).

Nice lil setup you got going on there benjamin! (+rep for you!).

Sorry for the lack of updates guys, I've been battling pH and brown algae issues. There have been some changes in my setup because of this:

I've upgraded the air pump to a Sunleaves model with much higher output. I also took out the 150w MH as it was generating a bit too much heat and went back to the Quantum Badboys, even tho I'm running all 6 lamps at around 300+ watts it stays a bit cooler. Next I stopped using Rhizotonic and ditched the whole living reservoir idea. Instead I got a bottle of Dutch Master's Zone for a sterile environment.

So far things are looking much better, all the brown algae is gone and my roots are starting to grow again!
