I think I just figured out why none of my seedling survived, I just inpected a dead seed I believe I could see fungus gnat larvae crawling all around it... I have been reusing my containers lately everytime a seed would die I would plant another in the same container not realising the problem was getting worst ... I am gonna give them 2 days now and just trash everything. start clean.

It could be something else too and it's fuking disgusting ... if someone can tell me what it could be that would be great ...

I just went and looked at another container that had been sitting there for a while, a Vortex ... I squeezed the seeds and what do I see 3 nasty white worms crawling out, the seemed fairly long that is why I am not sure they are fungus gnats larvae. GROSSS!!

no pics... well what else could it be if they were not fungus gnats larvae?

I sure hope everything goes well this current run... foreverflyhi, can I put the nematodes right on top of the soil of each container?

I finally took the shitty plastic saucers out of the room, they are so frustrating to work with, half of them were way too big for my containers. I went and bought a 12$ tarp, (I should have done that in the first place... spent something like 30$ on saucers...) it's folded in half and used the staple gun all around... when it's time to clean I might just go buy another for 12$ tarp. Anyway it's so much better now.

^^^^ I see the Grinspoon is stretching like a mofo...ha....it will only get worse, she's gonna take up half the room!.......sooooooooooo worth it/ don't even think about chopping her...........no pressure:p

good call on the tarp.......did you get a cheap ph probe from hd/lowes yet????

no ph probe yet  I am so broke right now it's not funny! Just enough money for groceries and electric bill :eyesmoke: (luckily I dont have to spend money on dank anymore...)

yes Grinspoons are going to be huge, unfortunately, I am trying to get a decent overall yield and I cannot afford to let them have a full af600 to themselves!! So I will try to keep half of them under the AF600 and the other half under the Kessil H350 (as soon as Agent Orange are done) Just so that I dont use more than 1/3 of a AF600 on them. I am not sure but anyway dont you worry I will grow them out!!

My bill is fairly high but it's hard to tell... I dont use a lot of power in general, heat is on gas... so not much higher than the neighbours if any. (If I was vegging with 18 or 24 hours a day that would be different story...) I could do a lot better on efficiency if everything was in the same room. Its just a mess.

by the way, how much should I worry about the pollen from my male spacebomb in the tent hehe... I am affraid it will get everywhere in the basement and that I will have seeds in everything.

Can pollen go through a carbon filter I guess the answer is yes ...>? and how many plants can 1 male really pollinate ... to the point that all the buds are loaded with seeds?

THANK YOU

and I guess I should have the male in the corner of the tent so that the fans are not blowing on it? ah fuck what have I got myself into...

When the male is loaded with pollen, but the sacks are still mostly close... can I just kill the male then, put all the pollen in a jar and crush everything and use right away with a brush instead of shaking the plant?

You need to move the male and shake the flowerettes into a jar or baggie every day until you have enough spoog stored up

Holy Fuck I was gonna fuck everything up :eyesmoke: Sometimes I dont think

As you can see I am still very much a newbie. Thinking that I could grow a big male in my basement ... I can now see how volatile pollen is. Too bad my females were a bit too young to be pollinated ( I think ... less than 2 weeks into budding ... I think I can see a few hairs turning orange so it might have worked a little) but yeah I had a few sacks that were open. I pulled the male out, I couldnt save that much pollen yet unfortunately maybe enough for a branch or 2.

But I will try 2 different ways of collecting the pollen,

I have the spacebomb that I pulled off the ground replanted in a small container with a bag on top and 2 holes at the top of the plastic bag, back in the tent (hopefully wont get too humid)

I chopped a few branches that are in a glass of water that I will put by a window seal upstairs on the second floor.

now that it is happening this way I hope I can get enough pollen to pollinate at least a few branches of NYC Diesel and Medecine, but also a few others like Chemo and my own strain Smiler.

Happy Growing everyone :bigjoint:

nevertheless, spectacular contribution of yours! very solid plants and amazing combo of supersoil and leds!

+rep!

and thanks for when you suggested to me supersoil some time ago on the mevo thread.

keep it up

Ok Agent Orange #2 has come down. not a bad yield, I am guessing around 1.5 oz, there is another one the same size in the same container that she was. The buds are looking dank!!

However I found a few banana, please tell me if they have released pollen when they look like this (I think I ask this earlier in my thread but I almost need it to be re-confirmed!!) I have heard of sterile pollen how do you know if the plant had sterile pollen or not? anyway I am not going to stress over it, I inspected the other one and she looks good. I had some heat issues at some point so that could be related.
IMG_9364.JPGIMG_9361.JPG
on this picture it looks like those would be banana about to pop out?
IMG_9360.JPG

Man it's really not that obvious if that's the case and if the yellow banana have released pollen then I really dont have the eye to spot them before they come out. I had them on 5-6 buds, one per bud...

I managed to get a few pics of the worm, you should see it to the right of this nasty seedling (it was coming out of the ground like this!! it look like a zombie seedling!!!)
IMG_9370.JPGIMG_9369.JPG

Here is Agent Chemo coming off the ground!! I am sure there is some nasty little worms in there as well is it too early to give a little azamax hehe? The mother is still growing and here she is!! unbelievable!!

Awesome stuff man. I had a few pollen sacks on one of my 'big bang' towards the end of flowering. The other one right next to it had none. Picked most of them off.
Found one mature seed and about 4 immature seeds. So i dont think you have much to worry about. :)

I guess a good general clean would get rid of the worms? They look nasty! :(

that pollens about to pop if it hasnt already but i doubt the pollen will be able to go very far with that sack all crammed up in the bud. i would just pull them off and mark the buds with a ziptie.

im not sure i would overreact to the worms yet. if they are in the flowering plants you just chopped inspect the roots to see if they are eating live tissue, if not and the roots look healthy i would say its safe to assume they are harmless.

what do you mean mark the buds with a ziptie? is it bad to smoke pollen or something? or you think there might be seeds in the bud?

I just chopped the 3 seeded buds on the chemo... I just counted about 70 of them not including the 10 I had picked up about 10 days ago, of which 1 survived (maybe 2!!?) because I couldnt wait to try em out. Again I will be putting 4 in a glass of water tonight :eyesmoke: 4 that the outer shell was all dried up seems like they had been ready for a while. I know it is silly to start freshly harvested seeds but I really dont care I would have been happy with 10 more seeds now I ll have 60+!!! Not to mention I have no idea how Agent Chemo are going to come out so that will be interesting to see.

For once I will keep track the time... DAY 1 AGENT CHEMO... I just transfered it in the 12/12 room, wish me luck with this one!!

If you can be a little less impatient, it might help to at least freeze the new seeds for 3- 5 days, then thaw them for a few hours to room temp, then drop in water
