Fans for Cooltube - Apartment Noise??? How much???

My friend (hey I'm actually serious :finger:) wants to grow in her apartment closet and is wondering about fan noise

She wants a 400 watt MH/HPS combo Cooltube

Too much heat means more fan needed but more fan means more noise I guess

Also, she obviously can't cut a whole in her fucking wall for ventilation so I was thinking she could pull and push air under the door? :?

If cooling a 400 watt is out of the question what about a 250?

Depends on the apartment. Where I grew up as a kid, you could hear people walk across the rooms. Now, theres about a foot of concrete inbetween floors.
A cooltube with a 6" fan running on a dimmer should be fine.
Cut a hole in the ceiling. Cut it straight, save the piece of drywall.
When you move out, put the piece back, and spackle and paint over it...

Even a 250 would turn your closet into a sauna if you dont vent outside.

What does she want to grow? If its some hybrids or Indicas that don't get too tall then she can keep the light down near them. She should get low noise fans from HTG supply-whisper fans. Also 250 is good for 2 plants and 400 for 4. She should be quite fine growing with 250w cooltube in a closet with 2 plants. She will need to keep the air flowing but she can certainly open the door when the light cycle is going use hooks screwed into the ceiling and wire to hold ducting up and out near the door. Sounds like great adventure is about to begin :weed::grin:

I'd look at digital ballast Lumatek. Much smaller, lighter, better warrantee, not as hot and about the same price. New tech...for the industry in the last 5 yrs. HTG only sells them on ebay and not on their web site (weird....). I'd call them see if they can package a deal for you. Tony should be talked to. Check out my thread on 3 holes in ceiling for suggestion to fewer holes in wall. Really not a big deal to cover a hole and paint over when moving out.
