Fan Leaf Rapid Death

Setup:
Day Temps 75-81
Night Temps 68-74

PH during balanced during feeding. Between 6-7

Nutrients - Nectar of the gods line. Using half strength + cal mag + at 1 tsp per gallon. A touch of azomite.
Soil is Mother Earth brand and did excellent up to this point.

My plants are in week one of flowering under a 600 watt hps. 2 blueberry, 1 cheese wreck, 1 dark ghost train, 1 honey banana.

Each of these plants are experiencing rapid fan leaf death from bottom up and it seems no matter what I try it continues. From what I have read and looked up it seems as though it's a calcium magnesium def but I do supply that.
The purpling of some stems suggest P def but I supply that as well. The leafs start to discolor into brown and splotches all over until finally curling and and dying outright.

At this time I'm unsure of what is truly going on. Any help is appreciated.

Kind regards,

Seems like you did your research and have a plan. Nice job making it this far!

The 1tsp of cal-mag should be fine to avoid a deficiency.

How often are you watering? How much? Maybe try giving them a good watering (just water), get 20% runoff or more, wash away any salt buildup in the soil. Just a suggestion.

I have been adding cal mag but it seems to still continue. I water depending on the plant. My shortest is still about 4-5 days while the others I water usually every 3.
I lifted them up grow rocks below the fabric and allow a good amount of runoff every time.

I'm at a loss as to whether or not something is somehow locking up or what. I try to make sure the top inch of soil is dry before watering as well so I didn't think it would be over watering.

Yeah, that is frustrating. I've gotten to that point a couple times with my current grow. I try to tell myself that in the end I will learn something that will help me in the future.

What kind of nutrients were in the soil to begin with? I have no experience with Mother Earth. Some soils have enough in them to feed the plant for a month or more. Maybe you fed on top of that and did cause some sort of lock out. Hopefully we can get someone else to pinpoint your problem for you.

I just recently started feeding them as It seemed the soil did have enough but the problem started before and after the first real feeding.
The Nectar of the gods didn't get here till last Thursday. Two of the plants have been on nothing but water and cal mag and experience just as much. This is my first grow in about 10 years and as much as I try to baby them it seems something goes wrong.

I understand your pain. I haven't grow in 10 years either. I just started again 3 months ago and I've battled heat stress, cal-mag deficiency and even a hermie.

I wonder if you tried repotting one of them into a pot with different soil....... Just to see if maybe that one would take of and show some signs of improvement. That would answer whether or not your soil is the issue.

For what reason, it's a bit hard to say, but the plants are clearly showing a lack of potassium and what appears to be a long magnesium deficiency. You have no issues with calcium, at least not a lack of it. First thing to know is the condition of your medium, a general ppm/ph reading to know what you are dealing with, and then the feed can be adjusted properly.

PPM meter is one thing I don't have but I can re check the pH of the runoff when I water next. Should I add Epsom on top of cal mag in the next water?

Not before knowing if you have an issue in the grow medium. Also, the issue is more with potassium, and magnesium, not so much calcium. Im wondering if all the cal-mag, you said that's all you could feed it until your nutes arrived, the calcium is locking out everything. It would especially hit potassium and magnesium hardest. As you go into flowering, i think the calcium in your medium, plus whatever is in your nutes is enough, focus more on the magnesium, use just the epsom, as the added sulfur is needed especially now into flower...this is just my initial thought. Try to check the ph of your soil just to be sure, but you seem to be into organics so ph is likely not your issue.

Thanks. Is there anything with just strictly potassium?

stop cal-mag and reduce your feedings to maybe every third or fourth time for a few weeks and see how they grow. also, are you allowing a dry cycle with the plants?

I think it's a mag lockout. I'm wondering why your pH balance fluctuates "between 6 and 7" ?
