Nice setup @Or_Gro
I can't see you having any issues with 1350 ppfd.
Thanks Mo,

That 1100 ppfd is coming from qbs 36” above plants. Tops are at avg air temp ~80F, but some cupping, i maybe ramping intensity a little too aggressively. Will make decision when i changeout nutesoup later today.

Sure have to be careful with water getting on plants at these intensities. Have a few leaves with “moisture burn”, from condensation.

Nice! You really runnin 2k ppfd?

What are those white spear tips?
I grow in Soil so I can move the pots about a bit so plant under that 2k hotspot weren't permanently under it they were swapped about but I've run 1300 + without issues.
800 - 1000 ppfd across the canopy seems to be the sweet spot for me.

The white tips are slipped onto top of bamboo canes to avoid getting a cane in the eyeball.

Good eyeball warning devices!

Now, if, short of a hardhat, i could find something to protect my bald head...

I run a ton of Samsung 560mm lm561c diodes and custom made deep and far red strips. 10 Samsung single rows 3500k, 5 Samsung double row 2700k, 4 custom made strips with 60 deep red and 60 far red alternated for even red blending. All in a 2x4 tent. I can run up to almost 1k in watts. But I dont. I run them softer. But they flower the hell outta some nugs.

... and I thought, the foam tips would have melted like ice in the sun, lol!

So, just bumped settings to ramp rh up to 62.5% average, close to “early flowering” VPD recco for current temp in attachment below (not sure how accurate these ranges are for cannabis; my location has potential for high powdery mildew risk, so don’t want to push rh up too much; good air movement in tent at the moment with two ozeri brezza II fans, tho). Should help reduce stress leading to cupping.

Planning to continue quick ramp to 1350 ppfd, as long as i can maintain VPD early flowering range and no widespread cupping.

A little background on the plants.

Plants started from 4 feminized seeds.

July 1: 6 real nodes, topped at 2nd/3rd real node for 2 mains (in 4-gal buckets under a cheap 300w chinese led; front, left NYC Diesel started out as strongest seedling, got stem rot, removed lower leaves/laterals, cut off roots, pulled stem down, and re-rooted).

July 10: topped for 4 mains (used tie-wire and nuts to position mains).

July 18: topped for 8 mains

[btw, pics above taken thru same filter as the one below, wtf? lol]

Aug 12: pre-12:12 defol (in 8-gal ez-stors; under kind 750, set at 60% red, 100% white, 100% blue; dimmed to put 600ppfd on tops; front plants in switched positions compared to other pics; front, left SSH also developed stem rot sometime after topping for 8 mains, i supported stem and it pulled through).

I build the manifold to have big pipes and even distribution of water & nutes and to set diameter, not necessarily to grow plants as nugbuckets mainlines. How the plants respond in stretch determines how i train tops.

That's NUTS!

Ok, lights lowered, ppfd adjusted to 1350 (lowered to 16” gap at 1500 ppfd w full power, then dimmed to 1350).

Once temp & rh stabilize, i’ll adjust controller settings to maintain early flowering VPD.

Plan is to run, thru stretch, 1350 ppfd for 13.5 on:10.5 off (65 DLI); far red for 15 mins after lightsoff; 1500 ppm CO2; VPD at early flowering upper limit; nutesoup at 2.3 ec & 6.1-6.2pH; daily nutesoup topping, pH adj, 180 plant spin; add/adj tiedowns to keep tops even.

3 plants currently 15-16” above res lid, other 10-11” above lid.

Pics in the morning, but for those keeping track of ppfd ramp, i backed down to 1000-1100 ppfd midafternoon.

Leaf temps were at 79-80F, which matched avg air temp and was in line with VPD target, but some leaves under the center of each 2-board set (1300-1400 ppff) bleached badly. Leaves at same height or less, farther from center, did not bleach at all, these tops were 900-1100 ppfd.

So, lesson learned: 1st week of flowering (moving from 600-700 ppfd, 20hrs/day, 43DLI) leaves can not take more than 1100 ppfd.

I’ll go for 1350 again next week, to see what’s possible in wk 2.

Everything else continuing in-range.

The stretch is on.

Yesterday:

Today, at same light gap:
CD4709A1-0895-4479-8780-7BD8906C0F88.jpeg

At least 2” overnite on right hazes, now 16-17” above res lid; little bit less on the left diesels.

[btw, that front, right plant is the one that had stem rot and i re-rooted -she’s a badass. lol]

Here’s the light damage at 1350 ppfd:

Topped up water & adj’d pH to target, then raised lights and reset to 1050ppfd at bobs.
