People are smart enough to figure out how to solve problems in spite of constraints. I think the lack of will to solve the problem of propaganda today is a larger obstacle to solving the problem than a strict interpretation of the 1A is.

By and large I agree. A little censorship is somewhat like being a little pregnant.

where in our society do you see that lack expressed or concentrated? Would (somehow) finding a way to get the big media outlets to be less complicit in this systemic complacency be on point?

(The elephant in that room is that the GOP, and the dark-money power structure that wears it like a hat, positively cheer the propaganda machine onward.)

I’d be more at ease about it if the top dozen co-conspirators in Congress were currently facing serious lawsuits regarding their public health and election misdeeds. However my grasp of the law is poor, and I don’t know for what to effectively sue them. Someone would know if “plainly acting against the welfare of the constituents” is actionable without impeachment, which at this time could not work for political reasons.

As you say, MAGA GOP are the source or beneficiaries of most of the propaganda as well as those who profit from it like the owners of Fox, etc. Also, it's not really an issue for most. If somebody writes their congressman, most likely it will be bread and butter issues.

In America they don't have control of the courts (in an antidemocratic way) and the media, nor do they control all of the government. They have a rough year ahead of them until election day and Trump will have the roughest time of all. It won't be all roses in MAGA world with Maga Mike as the speaker and Donald going down in flames, he will have to break with Trump or Trump will break him and the GOP. Donald is going to prison and perhaps jail first, my money is on him being disqualified in Colorado with the ongoing trial, that will be the first real marker of his downfall.

Even if Trump is disqualified, he will still attack or endorse GOP candidates, even from a jail cell, so they dare not throw him under the bus unless he is muzzled in jail or prison. What Do you think Trump will demand of Maga Mike if he is disqualified? A write in ballot like Biden is doing in Iowa? Donald will need to prove he is too big to jail, and a republican write in campaign would be the way to go. How about he leads a riot on the DC courthouse steps this spring right in the middle of their primaries? Either that or he's a RINO.

Demand of Mike....shit i dunno...and i'm just being honest when i say that...and btw that supposed church i mentioned above is a doner to MAGA mike..js...

i think the disqualification goes by state only, once the states are a collective, then it will become a national....keep in mind once he's done, or if he's done in these states....he's whole campaign of trying to get into the big house is done...all he need is to lose 3 to 4 states, and the orange baffon in done....course he'll cry, cry, cry, whine whine and whine....but in the end....he'll be broke and or ruined.....

Maga Mike might be all in with Trump, but Trump will lead him to disaster, if the wants to win a house majority in 24, he can't raise a fraction of the cash Kevin did. He is the poster boy for abortion and this handmaiden tale horror should get America's women aroused as much as Trump. His latest stunt is trying to tie funding for Israel to cutting IRS enforcement against corrupt billionaires and millionaires who cheat on their taxes. Joe will get funding for Ukraine, Israel and the budget out of this clown before he's done, and Donald might soon have much bigger problems than worrying about the details of policy. That's why I'm paying so much attention to Trump's disqualification, if he is disqualified, he might rip the republicans a new one in several ways on the way down. He will be bitter, panicked and freaking out until the cell door slams on his ass and he will demand loyalty from the GOP all the way. If they don't incarcerate him upon conviction in DC and let him run loose during the appeal while disqualified, it would be a nightmare for the republicans with Donald going rouge and looking at serious prison time as a convict.
