enough CFL to flower?

so , using a rubbermaid bin as a light fixture painted flat white , it runs about 78-80 F have 10 x 24watt 2700k and 1 x 65w 6500k cfl ... 1 cfl puts out 1600 lum , the 65w puts out 4500 lums, thats just over 20,000 lum's , LSTing and have 2 plants ... is the cfl output enough? give that the bulbs are 2-3 inches away.

From what i've been reading, thats more than enough.

umm i thought a Hps would put out around 50,000lums so how is 20,000 more than enough?

because a 400 watt hps is good for like, 10 plants or a 3x3 area. He's growing 2, in like a 1.5x2 area.

You should be fine, check out my grow if you want to see how 14 26 watt cfls + a 50 hps is doing. I've had some nute issues, but overall the growth looks pretty ace.

its odd.. they seem to grow better with 2700k bulbs in veg... tried 6500k.... 2700k seemed to keep it more compact, close nodes

cant really comment on that honestly, I'm not sure why that would be the case.

yeaaa man u should be fine.. deff. i've done a few grows with CFL's and got great results. adn u will deff be fine. as long as u keep the CFL's 1-02 inches away at all times.. u will be fine. u can cehck out my grow now. its in my signature. i got a super skunk at a lil over 5 weeks into flowering usin cfls.. i have about 200 watts flowering that 1 plant and its doing GREAT!! adn i had a white widow plant.. i had about 300 watts flowering that single plant.. which is obviously way more than i need. i started out with 2 plants but 1 didnt make it so i put it all on 1 plant. heres the link to that journal.... the 1st lin k is the harvest pics.. adn the 2nd link are the buds all dried/cured

jsut wanna show ya wat 300 watts can do to i plant... 1 tip i have for u.. idk how u have it set up.. i know alotta people will just put all the CFL's above the plant.. adn let it flower like that... but my advice to u would be to scatter them everywhere.. like with my super skunk... i have 1 40 watt CFL above the plant. and about 4 or 5 more all around the side. u can check out my journal and see wat i mean. it works much better
