, could u please give me an estimate, runing 2 fans and 1 exhaust fan with it???
it says it is 50 cents an hour kwh, im runnin ac 80% of the day 2 degrees cooler then usual, the 600w hps 3 fans two normal and 1 outfan. it is 5 cents per kwh during off peak, right now june-august they have this bull shit 3-6 pm it is super peak fuck u aps and ur super peak. that is a big difference 5 c to 50, for all u az growers i got a website u should reall look at http://www.aps.com/main/services/res...es_29.html#ta7 , i think u will be surprised i was. Also last night was my first night switching to 18/6, i did it from 10pm to 4am, i HAVE toswitch my lighting so its off from noon till 6 what is this gonna do to my plants. they have been on 24 til yesterday did 1 night of 18/6....please help

at those rates, running 600 watts from 4am until 10pm will cost you $10.252134 per week.

also, learn to do math.

I just checked the link above and it appears that .05254 is correct for off peak. That is one hell of a deal. You better get the wife to do the laundry and dishes on off peak too !!!

that is a slamming rate. we're at about .095 or so here on peak, maybe .085 or so off peak but i haven't checked in a while.

i don't think you need a smart meter to do that. my meter outside looks like it's from the 60s or 70s.
If it is the older one that turns, I don't see how they could charge you any different. It would have to be a digital smart meter to know the difference.

Whaaa? All you need is a clock dude. It clearly says when the off peak times are.
The older type meter that turns, will turn at the same rate no matter what time of day it is. 1kw is 1kw at noon or midnight. In areas where they bill you differently for peak usage, wouldn't the meter have to to know what time it was to report the peak usage verses the non peak ??

I don't think it's peak usage per house. I think it's peak usage overall. Idk for certain tho.

The power companies know exactly how much wattage is going through the lines at all times.

well, they break it down on my bill by pea/non-peak, so i'm not sure what magic they use to do it.

Since it is magic, I would guess voodoo then. You are pretty much screwed. Did you really hurt yourself with plastic sheeting ? WTF happened ?

I don't know how the magic works, but they've had those kind of plans way before smart meters.

It doesn't take a math genus to know it's better to run lights at night.
