what about an apartment building, Would they have a way of seeing the electricity consumed in individual apartments?

btw- My electricity is included in rent

I've heard a personal use setup @400-600W is just like having a computer plugged in 24/7, which is not unusual.

The fact that electric is included in your rent is a little weird, but I'd bet it's fine. Have a back story in case your landlord brings anything up, like you do computer animation, or coding or something that requires computers plugged in all the time...

Anyone know the average energy consumption in a Canadian or better yet, Ontario household??? I keep hearing different things...I'm running 6 600watts for flowering and about a total of 1000watts for vegetation and mothers plus a shit load of fans. I'm not living in the place so that will be the only energy consumption. I have run an operation of 3 1000's, 2 400's and 2 250's before for 2 years and never had a problem and I also lived in the place. Does anyone know the SAFE amount of consumption here in ontario?

Its actuallly quite comon around here. My past 3 appartment have had all utilities included.
Im just trying to get all my facts straight before I start this grow room. (I have some experience from a few years back) The room Im using is a storage room 8x4x8. The only problem I forsee is ventilation, but luckily on the other side of the wall is the exhaust vent for my kitchen... So im thinking of cutting a hole in the the other side and venting through there. Im also thinking it might be a good idea to setup a charcoal filter or something similar just incase. I have a 600w hps for flowering and a 400wMH for veg. Still need to buy everything else including seeds. any suggestions? ideas?

8X4X8... I would divide the room in two with a light barrier and set up two hydro "bath"-type watering systems. One 4-6 plant system under the MH with a hydro nutrient bath rich in N for growth. Another system under the HPS would be filled with pro flowering, budding nutes (Advanced Nutrients for instance). An additional small shelf in the MH "room" would be used to nurse cuttings that would develop into clones that can be moved into the HPS space after they get 10 - 14"...

there ya go!

Thats what i was thinking. Except I'm unfarmilliar with hydroponics, I was just going to stick with soil. Also, I was hoping to do 8-10 plants per rotation- Think i'll have the room?
My main concern is pumping the weed rich aroma into someones apartment above me, im hoping a charcoal filter might help, or an ozone contraption (although, from what ive read they can be dangerous). Another option is using a strain that has less of an odour, but Im assuming that might come with a lack of quality budz. Plus Im set on trying Endless Sky from Dr.greenthumb. From what ive heard its sum good stuff:eyesmoke: .

Ive got time to think it over anyways, probably wont be starting for another month or so.

As for the seperating wall- Think a curtain would do, or should i try to seal off every crack of light?

Beware Ameren Ip mailed me a letter stating that they were installing a automated meter reader with-in the next few weeks. Has anyone else recieved such an notice, as I checked with my neigbours and they have all recieved it as well. My concern is they are going to see my op kick on and off everyday like clock work, with the push of a button at their office anytime they choose. Is this not an invasion of privacy or what! Just thought everyone should know what we have in store for us in the USA.

Unfamiliar with Hydro?

Buy a few of these: hydro setup

Google "weed hydro growing", search this site, watch the grow videos. It's not hard to educate yourself on this growing technique.

Once plants start growing big n' bushy the room gets crowded quickly!

Black plastic separating the veg and flower room will work. Yes, every crack of light needs to be blocked from reaching your budding plants for 12 hours a night...

I think this device only works when they drive by your house. It sends a signal to the gy in a truck drivingby your house.. Wireless technology.. rather than the meter guy reading your meter... Is this correct?

Pretty sure that technology uses the power lines to transmit the data. I can't confirm it but I believe it works on the same premise as powerline ethernet systems.

P.S. Lurking on the forums and about to start grow for first time. Once the room is built and system ready to go I will post pics and whatnot.
