So I'm using a 1000w dig ballast and have half my garage converted into a room. Previous owners built the room really well from frame/insolation to outlets to even duct for AC and heater. However there is an surge/reset outlet on the outside of the room in the garage. Not sure what the outlets are actually called, but the have a reset and test button in the middle of the outlet. Anyway all has been well until we got a locker freezer that I pretty much had to plug into that outlet, I could plug into a different outlet with some remodeling, but same circuit same type of outlet. Now when I plug in my 1000w it shorts out the outlet and the freezer shuts off. Now I know that if I just get regular outlets it would blow my outside fuse. Im pretty notice when it come to electrical but what are my best options here. Get regular outlets and calculate how much amps I'm running and get a fuse that can handle it?
