Election Night 2020

Personally, I think the issue is growing wealth disparity that is at the root of the anxiety that is driving people to fascism. Cuts to education are an outcome of that as well.

I think Biden won yesterday and the counting is all that remains to be done. The strife in this country is not over. Not by a long shot.
It’s going to be tough for Biden if the Republicans keep the Senate, which it looks like they will do.

It always was going to be, but at least Biden will not stop investigations from happening into anyone corrupted by the 4 years of Trump. They might not be able to pass shit (also something out there about run-offs w/o Trump on ticket that might be good and not sure about elections in 2 years), but luckily the Democrats held the house which was the most important thing this election for sure.

That's the media myth, but I'm sure it was a factor too, as well as in the senate race.
What myth? It's fact. We are in the early stages of generational and ethnic shift in this country. You keep harping on one-offs as if they caused the whole thing. The underlying cause is changing demographics. White people, especially men have held privileged status ever since the formation of this country. The loss in status is very upsetting to many of them. They are pushing back and love Trump's rhetoric against the inevitable, they even support voter suppression in order to keep their status.

During times of change expect wide variation in what people do. The next couple of elections are going to be doozies.

I am guessing a whole lot of Trump trolls (foreign and domestic) (left and right) are trying to stir up shit by pretending that there are a lot of butt hurt feelings to try to get some noise factory going for Trump to exploit.

I don't see anyone following Trump's attempts, maybe some crazies will peak their heads up, but I think we will be just fine.

I meant the part about McCain's revenge, not the demographic changes that underlie the shift, I agree with you on that, I do believe in causality.

From the looks of it, Biden just picked up Wisconsin that will bring him up to 237, if he picks up Mich, AZ and Nevada, he'll will....that will be 270...if my math is right...
Yeah, CNN just broke it down really well. There is NO way Trump can win at this point. Its over. I am still trying to absorb that he will be gone, I don't think we will see a concession speech . It will be fun to see him move all his crap and garbage out of the peoples house. I want the house fumigated, bombed just like its been infected with powdery mildew and repainted, new carpets, and maybe even need to smudge the place from all the bad vibes.

It's like saying the tide caused the flooding when the underlying cause is rising level of the ocean. Sure, the flooding occurred with the tide but it's not why areas are flooding now that have never flooded in our history.

I know, you are going to reply with another stupid argument that won't hold water. But McCain isn't why Biden is winning in Arizona. Hers is a trivial effect. Just like blaming perma-Bernie babies for Clinton's loss in 2016. Both are superficial and ignorant arguments.

But rave on, dude. find another teensy occurance and say that's why Trump lost. Trump lost because the country is headed away from his kind of politics and rhetoric. It was a nail biter. A lot of people are afraid of the inevitable change.

The next election will be every bit as insane and could swing toward the Fascist American Republican Teabaggers (FARTs). But the change is inevitable unless they manage to block people from voting in future elections. I think Trump would have done so if he had won and it's not like he has given up yet either.
