So I was gonna suggest you get one of these, but you already have a pit bull. Shouldn't that do it? My rotty won't let anyone into my yard, or his yard lol. I got a small arsenal of firearms too but I sure as fuck ain't shootin no one in my yard. But is they break into the house, game on mother fuckers, gotta protect the family not my garden.
Rottweilers are more likely to do a better job guarding a house or garden than a pit bull. They are a guardian breed, pit bulls are not. Generally speaking pit bulls are not good guard dogs unless their owners are being threatened with bodily harm. Otherwise, most of them will probably help thieves take your stuff!

yes, but I don't think he could possibly have punched a rot without get his arm shook off.
it depends on the dog some are pussys just like any other breed..... im pretty sure if u did some googling u would c that chows bite the most people and i would guess pomeranians or cocker spaniels to be next in line

if u really want home security from dogs your best bet is a small herd of weiner dogs

It isn't that Rottweilers are a mean dog, they love their owners and families. They are just very protective of their territory which is why they make good guard dogs. The pit bull was bred for dog on dog combat. They generally love all people, even strangers, they can be aggressive to other dogs.

But when you breed a lab with a pitbull you get a dog that is usually somewhat guarded of people and dogs alike.
Isn't it odd..
They take scorings of dogs temperaments based on how they handle people, and pitbulls and labs have some of the highest scores, but when the 2 are crossed it makes something totally different...and not near as friendly...More or less most come out a loose cannon, they are just more unpredictable than either a pit or a lab... Pitbulls don't make the best guard dogs, but often all you need is a big dog that barks loud...that is usually enough to deter most people... You almost need a rottweiler or Doberman to make sure that your pit isn't stolen..lol. They'll take up with anyone...Except little old ladies trying to protect other dogs.

We had a lab pit that was topnotch, and he had a cujo bark. I tried to replace him with a full on pitbull, and I feel in my bones that when I need him to have my back he will be too busy chasing butterflies...unless he is on a leash, then he feels he should keep me safe...off the leash he just wants to run and jump, and splash and chase, and jump, and jump, and jump...
The lab/pit was obsessed with balls...one red rubber ball...
Or frisbees, and birds...He was crazy athletiche would sometimes leap fences to steal other people's frisbee games...so here is the guy reaching out to get his frisbee, and here comes this big black dog with a crazy intense stare floating through the air right past him to snatch the frisbee and make off with it...HIlarious!!! Never gets/got old.

But Kano died, and I got Rocky, and he isn't worth a damn except people that see him when he is on a leash make way...nobody will get within leash area...and he isn't mean at all, but when he is on the leash he just gets this look to him...It is probably because I have been training him to weight pull so when on the leash he feels he has a job to do...? Either way he is a big pansy but looks scary as hell...Which I guess is good enough..

I'm with you on the pit/lab mix. When my eldest son was born I decided it was time for a dog & went to the pound where I found the tinest black & white mix pup . . . that bit me first thing. Lab/Pit/Rot mix, we got along famously & he matured into a 110 lb best friend that could literally climb trees ! The guys at work (he was with me all the time) called him "Four wheel drive" because he had a reputation of doing the craziest, most athletic shit. He would take off running like he was shot out of a cannon & jump on the roof (8' high) of the fuel shed. He even learned how to catch blue crabs, he would sit in chest deep water in the bayou & suddenly spin around & grab these damn things out of the water & crunch them. Dumb ass, as he would get his face and ears all pinched up & bleeding, but you couldn't stop him. He liked his crab.
One Easter we had to hide the eggs inside the house for our kids (it was storming that day) & since he was just laying around I gave him one to hold in his mouth & he did for probably 20 minutes as we told the children they were "hot" or "cold" while looking for it.
The kids never did find that one. ;)
I sure do miss old Brutis.

Got my rotty over 2 years ago when he was 8 weeks old. At 3 months he turned real agressive and bit me. I put a beatin on him and pinned him down with me knee on his throat until he gave in and submitted. From that day on he knew I was the pack leader, alpha male, not him. Now he is the nicest dog I ever had, you can stick your hand in his food bowl while he is eating and he doesn't care. When freinds come over he loves to play with them. But when I'm not home it's a whole different story. They all tell me how agressive he gets when they get close to my gate. He is very protective over my home and family.

I had a lab/pit named Nala......I got into a fight in front of my old apartment one time and she shook the fuck outta the guy I was squared off with. I ended up having to get the hose on her....It was funny because I would spray her.....then spray him a little.....then go back to here lmao....good times
