I don't think jiffy pellets have ANY nutes....they are compressed peat only right?....but I'm not sure...I've never used them...

do seedlings need nutes at 1"?? when did you start giving them nutes Tahoe? or I wonder should I be thinking of transfering them into potting mix?? They seem to be doing fine as they are but I want to keep them that way.

well.....since I started I have read that they actually do not need them....but I acutally started giving weak nutes (1/4 - 1/2 strength...) to them from day one .... and after the first few days I went to full streght right away......so I don't know if I was lucky...but so far things have gone well.

I agree with tahoe, I have read no nutes until the first true set of leaves. But I have 1 plant in dirt and I gave it nutes from the start, really small amount. I think they look big enough to transplant.:joint:

I got a question on the nutes for seedlings. I am using Fox Farm's schedule to a tee, do I need to 'water down' or reduce the fertilizers or is their schedule safe?? I'm assuming they know what they are doing, right?

I have not used the fox farm stuff myself, but there are a lot of folks that do and most of the post I have read say their schedule is to strong. maybe someone who has used fox stuff will chime in...:blsmoke:

Im going to be using the Flora series, flora micro, flora gro, and flora bloom, I've heard the Fox farm is widely reccomended too though, heard lots of good things.

Looking good for a novice... Very good in fact... My success rate was little more than failure for a good 18 months when I began growing.

...a 250 hps..supposed to produce around 32000 lumens which I will use for flowering ... a mh conversion bulb..supposed to produce around 25000 lumens which I will be using for veggin'.... I think I'll have to make another cabinet for my 4ft fluoro so I can keep the strains going with some clones.
Am I right for uses for those lights???
I began with 250W MH and HPS bulbs. They are very cost effective for beginners. Because you appear to have done your home work, I would suggest more watts in the bloom room and 250W Air-Cooled as well as floros for seedlings/clones in your veg room, if you can afford it because I think you might just surprise us all.

Fingers Crossed :)

yo econo!
I was wondering if you think its possible to use those jiffy pucks to germinate and sprout and then transfer them to rockwool...would this be doable..you think? i ordered some along with my seeds but i didnt really know much about them..shouldve did my research, but now i know they are peat moss pellets...i am growing in hydro and will be using rockwool...is this going to be a problem?

Hey gweese, Ive never actually grown hydroponicly, but I think from what Ive read, rockwool is your best choice and I dont think the peat pellets are even an option for hydro growing, or even sprouting in that case.

I grow hydro and you can not use peat pellets they will stop up your pump. you must use rockwool or I used coco-tech this time and I think I like it...:peace:
