EC reading Vs Recommended nutrient dosage

Hi everyone,

I recently changed my reservoire to try and address my PH reading dropping ~ 0.8 each day.
With the "flushing" of the reservoire I added the recommended dosage for the 15 ltr tank I have.


With this new nutrient solution my EC meter is reading ~ 0.4, somewhat below what i thought It ought to be for week 2 flowering. Should I base my nutrient solution off of EC or recommended dosage?

recommended dosage is just a base to go off, if it needs more,feed it. it's your job as the grower to determine what your plants need. experiment a little

Doit to direction ...make sure ur shaking it before mixing...ec meter is a added tool not necessarily needed so dont rely alot on it. But its an awsome way to make sure your staying on track

and just HOW does a nutrient company know what strain you are growing, what style you are growing and how much your strain can take?
NEVER use the recommended amount, Always start at 1/4 strength and test out on your strain.

I'd only use a recommended dosage to get an idea of where to start(I would only start with at most 1/2 of that recommended dose though) when using new nutrients.

Genrally go to direction...its ur duty to adjust accordingly...every plant is differnt

I always go by what my ec wand says. I push my plants and imagine I'm heavy handed with the feed. 2 weeks into flower and I'm usually around 1.4 -1.6ec or 700-800 ppm. Maybe it makes a difference how long the plants have been vegged for though, as mine get 35 days of veg before flowering so they are nice and big. As long as my plants aren't burning up I shoot to hit 2.0 ec or 1000ppm by week 4 of flowering.

What is that dosage in conjunction with actual direction on bottle? Strain?
