I'm 18/6.. I'll slowly back down like gumball does to reduce the light to 12/12. I need to hit that day at 9" on my estimate... I have at least 7 more inches. I'll slowly reduce light gradually to the 9" from a week or so longer. Not sure that's the best idea.
I also found out another bummer, my home water come out 7.0 ph and i'm striving for 5.5 to 6.0. so I add an acid solution from this ph water kit for $15. noob move i know, but for a beginner trying not to fall over himself, I don't over invest yet. Any how my dwc garden it teaching me that... this is why i will probably soil and not dec for indoor. out door only. more room to tool around with all the mess of balancing water easier. I'm slightly lazy.
Anyhow thanks, I'm happy about my healthy one. even if it's a boy. I learned a ton and I'm ready for the Grapefruit, but not until i find out sex.

I did that, reducing my light down from 18/6 to 12/12 for timing going for a perpetual harvest between 2 chambers. It made me veg too long, now I have a Main Cola sticking up right by my Cool Tube. I think RiddleMe uses apple cider vinegar for pH down, but check. It's cheap too. Plants looking good.

Based on that Danielsgb, I'll probably jump to 12/12 at near 9". no worries. I'll lst and possible scrog. I'll continue my research. Thanks for the vinegar tip. I'll try. baking soda for up.
