Easy Cloning strains?

I have found a few strains are hard to clone BB as an example..OTOH I had great success cloning hash plant no matter how I tryed it would sprout roots. So what are some of the easer strains to clone?kiss-ass

I use a bubbler(s) and have near 100% success rate with the dozen or so strains I've grown over the past year. There's time difference for rooting and root growth rate between strains, but I'm not sure the rooting is so strain dependant as grower dependant. The root growth rate is strain dependant I believe.

I've got Flo and Super Strawberry Diesel in the bubbler now, the Flo took about 5 days to poke out the first root. The SSD were put in a few days later, I expect them to start to show roots in 2 - 7 days. Kali Mist clones ok, Bubblegum is a quick rooter, Red Diesel clones well, Big Laughing always takes a couple days longer than the others ... get the procedure down and it's 7 - 14 days with no worries.

hobbes is right...the bubbler is IT! mine is a glad plastic caserole, tripple painted in black then chrome silver...it has an airstone on a coathanger(o.k... foundation wire).anyway, it's cheap and rudimentary...straight water, 60 to 80 degree temps...no problem! I've not heard of failures with this method.

Here's a couple links to the FAQ instructions.

Unless you're already into hydro go with the bubbler over the aeroponics - idiot proof and easy, more forgiving to grower mistakes.

.

A bubbler is just a container of water with a fish tank air pump and air stone producing bubbles in the water. The bubbles put oxygen in the water to keep the cuttings alive until they root and the mechanical action of the bubbles against the cuttings' stems stimulates rooting.

I use 3 gallon buckets with a lid; use 2" hole saw to drill holes in the lid, I fit 9-10 clones per lid (I have several lids); use 2" mesh baskets with the bottoms cut out and 2" rubber cutting holders; 1 x 1" air stone per hole, tied to a round piece of plastic with twist ties so there's a circle of bubbles directly under the holes in the lid; 50W aquarium heater to keep water at 75 degrees F.

You might mess up 75% of them the first time or two but cuttings are cheap and in no time you'll be pumping out clones like a pro.

Cost
3 Gallon Bucket $8.00
Lid 5.00
Air Pump 30.00
Air Stones 10.00
Air Tubing 5.00
Mesh baskets (10) 2.50
Rubber disks (10) 5.00
Aquarium heater 20.00
Fish tank thermometer 3.00

If you're in a hot place the Aquarium heater won't be needed - I like my water 75-80 degrees F.

If you have no access hanging baskets (cheap online) you can substitute plastic cups with holes drilled in the sides and the bottom cut out, a plastic disk (or square) with a hole drilled in the middle can be used to hold the clones (pre cut a line to the center of the holder for clone removal, sit clone holder on top of cups, no need to fit in).

Some people don't use the lid or baskets, they poke holes in a styrophom plate to hold the cuttings and let the plate float on top of the water - the cutting stems are always in water, saftey.

Good luck!

Thanks for the run down!~Rep to you bro.

I second that, I have always used aero's until last go round, forgot to turn the pump back on and I lost all my clones including my only cut of my favorite plant. Was double my fault for only having the one cut but ya, grower mistakes + aero don't mix well

I have been using a bubble cloner for all mine and it dose work very well, I have also used vermiculite with a dome and heating pad with great success. I will say snow white was a easy clone strain..

Supersilverhaze is my fastest rooting. Usually five days flat not to mention it grows vigorous and the
Smoke is choice.

always had great luck with an aero cloner or whwtever you call it but NL#5 clones really well just using peat pellets and rooting powder

i made this one for about 15 bucks at Ballmart and Homedeepthroat for the paint as you do not want light in the water NONE. Order these and fit them into a bubbler of your own. I will attach pics of my bubbler and the name of the starter mediums too if you want to go that route check it...
Rapid Rooter Plugs on egay. Biggest part of cloning is the right starting medium as she is shock and does not need any more static like Nitrogen in the soil when she wants Potassium to Root Etc.. That is why the Bubbler works for a lot of folks it is fool proof with no Nitrogen in there. But really check the Rapid Rooter and Use Olivia' get and 24hour light not to intese and also higher humidity like a dome for them. I use the plastic containers from food or fruit sold at the local costgo or super mkt.

Cool thanks for the pics! Rep to you bro...

and then you will see the roots come out the bottom--- keep an eye don't want them to get light kills off the little hairs that eat.
