That's pretty awesome strain info. From what you posted about Extrema, I'm wondering if ChemD is an abbreviation of Chem Dawg or is ChemD something else entirely? If that is a Chem Dawg / Herojuana cross, I would think it would be mighty OG in its characteristics? But I could be wrong...

That is the information straight from Sannies site.
I am pretty sure it's a form of it, but I don't think it's the same strain.
 
I was just thinking like two days ago I wonder why the foxtails were just growing and had new white pistils.
Thinking they were 8-9 weekers
It's because this is supposed to be the last two weeks of flowering for them but I grew them as 8-9 wk budz and was thinking they would be ripe by now.
I know for sure that my Extrema is 8-9 wk. So these would be some big ass budz if I hadn't been flushing til this week.
I'll know next time. Sucks bad tho.. Not bad for my first time ever making it to harvest tho.
I tied a couple branches over and trimmed some more shade leaves and hope that will help them ripen up.
The premature budz got me high. I can just imagine what the cured ripe stuff will do.
I love the smell of the plants. Very strong sweet smell!!

Fox-tailing can be caused by just about everything from, genetics, heat stress, too much N, light stress and others. Generally it is not a good thing, just make sure you use the try-chromes on the main buds to determine when to chop don't use the foxtails.

By chance are all the foxtails at the tops? if so Heat/light stress.

This is a Strawberry Thai, Thai plants tend to do this ...

I also found the same thing when using my USB scope by hand and the stand was not that good. I attached it to my stereo lab microscope and use it that way. Nice pics.
 
Thanks Woods! They are on the top, but they don't look as bad as those.
They may be stressed because they have been flushing for the past two weeks when in fact they should have been getting heavy nutes.
It seems to me that it's the plant telling me that it's time for it to explode these last two weeks and I'm not letting it do its thing.
Since I now know these are 10-12 wk. Not the 8-9 wk like Extrema. These budz would be forearm size easily. (cough cough) my fuck up
Tomorrow will be weeks 9 so I added some nutes back into the rez today at half strength (735 PPM) for about a week thenI'll flush again.
I'm not sure what that will do but I think it should help them to pack on some more weight this week since it seems that is what they are trying to do.
 
Hi, I saw the fox tail / heat stress conversation and just have to throw something in. BTW, that stressed Thai pic by Woodsman is a doozy alright. Look at the severe heat stress on the surrounding leaves... Looks like one of my grows! Lol.

I had the fresh hairs coming out on my heat stressed buds on my last grow. It was late, late into flowering, but the buds that were getting hit hardest by the heat started developing new bud growth with fresh white hairs when the rest of the plant had all dry hairs and the buds were very mature. I flushed a little early too because I didn't see a point in letting them ride it out any longer with that massive heat stress. So yeah, I got the new bud growth in late bloom just like you're getting. In addition to an early flush, I do believe it is also the plant's way of trying to protect the burning buds too close to the light by channeling massive N-driven chlorophyll to them... resulting in new growth that looks like stuff from weeks and weeks ago.
 
I raised the light up a little bit. Bout an inch or so. It just started with the foxtails within the last week prob.
I guess I'll see how the next couple days play out and see how they react to the mild dose of nutes. I'm hoping they will drink em up.
I would just let em ripen up without the nutes but once I trimmed the fan leaves out I noticed a bit of green budz and clear trichs.
So I figure why not let them have some nutes and see if they pack on more size then flush again after a week with nutes.
Cuz to me it's late in bloom but to them it's time to pack on size (last 2 weeks). Hopefully that's how they are thinking!!
Also gave them back an hour of light. They are 11 on/13 off.
I'm confident with it so we will see what happens I guess..

No. I was just using Sensi Bloom, Big Bud & Overdrive. Then changed out the rez with pH'd water and have been running that for two weeks.
But then I found that info that said they were 10-12 wk flower and I found a few spots of light green and clear trichs so I figured it would be another week or so before they are done and I didn't wanna make them go a month with no nutes.
So I decided to give them some for a week then flush again. Good decision Bad decision? I don't know. But it don't seem bad..
 
it don't seem bad to me but you have to remember i am still learning as you are. the only negative i can think of is that the plants might store more nutes in their leaves and might try to hold em longer because they don't know when the next time they are going to eat.. then again that might be a positive if they use the food to bulk up. I gave my plants maybe 3 mini flushes during the flowering stage but it was never more than 4 days. After the mini flush they surely took up more nutes than water.
 
Not sure how long I'll leave the nutes in there. Depends on how they react.
If they start to swell up then I'll leave em in for a week.
If not then I will drain them out and let them go another week and ripen up.
 
The budz look like they are getting bigger. I notice more swelling of the calyxs and fattening of the budz.
Not because of the added nutes but just cuz of the week period they are in.
I think they are bout to fatten up quite a bit. An explosion I hope!!
Another week or so should pay off with bigger and better budz!!
 
Day 63 Week 9
Couple pics of the budz after I trimmed off alot of the shade leaves. They are close but I still see clear trichs.
The premature budz I cut last week got me high and tasted decent but I don't want to pick anymore premature
I may not get the yield I was wanting but I will have some good smoke and a good learning experience.

Looks like you had to tie a couple up ? Always a good sign. What kind of yield were you looking for ? looks like 3 oz's or so to me lol.

Didn't tie up. I tied down.. Lol! The screen does a good job of holding the budz upright and in place.
I only did that because the buds were standing straight up and blocking light from the lower buds.
So I tied it back so the light would penetrate the lower growth and hopefully make it swell up and ripen faster.
I initially was going for 4-6 oz but it's looking like 2-4 oz but I am hoping for 4-6. Not sure if they will swell up anymore or not.

 
Looks great either way Blu. :leaf: I bet everyone wish's they did something different at the end of their grow. Messed up you received the wrong info. on the plant too, 2 weeks make a HUGE difference. Good Job man.

Thanks Bro!! Yea I'm sure everybody has regrets about doing things different. It's a learning process and worth it in the end.

These budz are getting fatter and packing on some weight for sure. The biggest bud is 18 inches above the screen and goes under it a few inches.
So I figure it to be about 24 inches long and looks to be as big around as my forearm. Wanna see what that whopper weighs in at.
Hoping it weighs in at an oz or more when dry. Will see how much weight these babies will pack on over the next week.
I also notice a slight bit of green coming back into the yellow leaves. Which is what I wanted, hoping they will feed off those nutes and bulk up a bit more.
Then I'll flush within a week and then starve them again of nutes for another week. Til they ripen up.

HOLY JESUS! Thats one big ass bud! Like you said, hopefully they'll take up the nutes again, this process had to cause a little stress somehow, hopefully not much. We shall see. :-)

Definitely not the way I wanted to grow them, but wasn't sure what else to do with em other than give them a month of no nutes.
I think they will be fine and seem to be taking the nutes well and fattening up a bit more.
