Suppose i grow out as much of these lower nodes as possible for a week and what is too small to bud i can use for clones?

These plants aren't flowering much yet right;
as there is no flower development, can i switch to 18-6 for a week? They are 5th night 12-12
Absolutely, anything you're gonna cut anyway is perfect.
In a micro grow, you may want to top every branch eventually... Depends how long you want to veg.

Day 20
Screenshot_20210220-204758_Gallery.jpg

Tied tops down to their pots and moved plants up and closer to the lights.

Training was ok but i did a lot of unnecessary things and pestered them all day.

Run good in unintended damage losing only 3 fan leafs to a shelf attack.

One of the pots is draining remarkably poorly, i made bunch of holes and watered it until runoff for once. It took 3x the water than the other plants, if plant starts to fade then i will tranaplant it.

So this shapes up to be different than what i expected with 1 cola xD

The lights i got going into them is the most i can do without overheating.
7x 17w = 119
6500*3
4000×1
3000×3
+
10w 4000
9w 2800
Total 148

I think this light should grow them out quite well in about 10 days and by then start flowering.

It's only 0.9 of a sq meter so it's quite a lot of light.

Each plant has 4-6 of these small would atrophy bud sites and i i expect good things from them.

I've gathered that this supposed strain yields not much and is done in 8-9 week flower.

I am expecting preflowers in 3 days and flowering to start going into week 5.

I removed 2 bulbs to reduce heat and will remove the diffusers later.

7x 17w in there

Next week i will make a diy silent exhaust with carbon filter.

The exhaust now is too loud.

When the carbon and exhaust is working this will be a nice box for flowering.

Plants seem healthy and strong

Veg box is ready as well

Man vs plant, i bent the leaves and didn't cut anything. Lost a fanleaf to accident.

Day 23

Healing up after training in the last days.

There were temperature fluctuations as i was figuring things out and it got too hot for a couple hours & that a few times.

Today just bent a top apical and near broke a fan leaf

Alao learned that sunlight at noon is about 110k lum/m2.

I also fugured out that my bulbs arent best $/lumen value and i can get 65-75% more lumens out of 20w (2.5k lum) bulbs instead of the 17w.

I think the 110k lux is what i already have and 9x20w would be ~220k lux.

I think i will get at least 5-6 of 20 watts.

I also think that it is best to train the plants to grow completely horizontally so that all the growth is constantly kept in the sweet spot of light.

Otherwise i think one needs to use clones and just grow buds on a stick also keeping the entirety of the growth in the best light zone.

I have pruned some big fanleaves as there is plenty of new leaves developing.

Altogether missing 2-4 budsites due to atrophy or damage.

I think plants need some rest now.

I think this style of growing or it's variant is optimal in this kind of space.

Looks like a male characteristic.

The other two are still unseen in regards to these preflowers

Day 32

Flowering in process.

There is some withering, curling & necrosis on leaves but it is imo closer to minor than major atm.

There has been some serious stress with heat and light.

One where the heat got to 115ff/46c and the temps frequently being way too high.
Second incident is burning them with the LEDs, quite a few leaves got burnt.

I think these circumstances account for all the bad looking growth but there could be deficiencies in the mix. It would be difficult for me to figure it out at this point so i will just leave them to do their thing and keep the temps in check.

2 more months to go.

Many marijuanas. I have read that some banana kush plants do little to no stretching during flowering.. i hope these don't stretch.

I would like to prune more leaves and branches but i already plucked some questionable stuff.

I also gave them a little food grade npk fertilizer.

Screenshot_20210304-153120_Gallery.jpg
Pic above is the sparse discoloration i have on some of the leaves.
I think it's most likely due to droplets of water and or heat & light burn. The overall health of the plants does not seem to degenerate and therefore i don't think this is a cause for concern.

Day 36

Looks alright to me, i just let it do it's thing now and won't do any more training lest required.

I hope they survive until harvest and that these budsites yield 1-3g.
Screenshot_20210306-190656_Gallery.jpg
I smoked all the stuff i pruned and it was decent.

Day 37
About 9 days since flowers started forming

Screenshot_20210307-162810_Gallery.jpg
It is not very obvious at this pic but the canopy is quickly getting relatively uneven and there is next to nothing i can do about it as it is very crammed.

There are some buds developing beneath the canopy as well and i can't even expose that.
Screenshot_20210307-164006_Gallery.jpg
Also one peculiar circumstance is that the tips of some pistils on one of the budsites look somewhat burnt
Screenshot_20210307-164634_Gallery.jpg
It's not closer to the light than the other sites and has been like this for a couple days at least.

I will soon be moving the plants some 2-3 inches away from the lights.

Somewhat unrelated to the current events:

Having contemplated the harvest options i am inclined to harvest twice, as in cutting off the most developed colas first and letting the lower growth go for a few more weeks as to fatten it up.

This week i've had some problems with damaged pistils as i made some mistakes when foliar feeding.

11 days since started making pistils
Screenshot_20210311-115134_Gallery.jpg

I don't think i did any irreparable damage with the spray but it scortched them pretty bad as i also had 10/2/4 npk mixed in there at 1:7 rate. This is the damage
Screenshot_20210309-173832_Gallery.jpg
Some look better.

Overall i think they are fine and i expect new healthy pistils by the end of next week and will then attempt to dial in the light distance for the last 3 weeks.

I am quite happy with the way the grow turned out. Next to all of the budsites are gettting light and there is not much point in defoliating. Very low maintenance.

The potency of leafs is on par with the shitty hash we get here.

Something is definitely wrong and it's starting to show. First the pistils and now the leaftips are yellowing.

I will examine the lower growth tomorrow and move the light back if the lower leaves are also with yellow tips. Actually i will probably move them back down either way.

4-5 weeks left so i think it will work out but i want to keep the lights as close as possible to max out the the lux, even if it burns them a bit, i think it will be worth it.

Flushing might be a good idea as well but i will wait & see how the leaves and pistils are doing in a week. If leaves deteriorate very quickly then i will flush, i guess that if i wait 2 weeks then i can flush anyway as with 3 weeks to go they should somehow make it to harvest.

I hestitate to flush now because they need those nutes in the soil and i might have been overwatering.

The leaves were definitely nute burnt.
Can't easily lower the lights due to temps getting high so i will have to take that L or keep trying to control temps.

Pistils seem to regrow. Will probably flush the soil in a week or two.

Day 42

The soil has been quite acidic all along and i assume it's been locking out calmag and pk... Live and learn

Getting frosty
Screenshot_20210314-202007_Gallery.jpg
nutrient problems and dust in there
Screenshot_20210314-202446_Gallery.jpg
Will flush the soil for the next watering wuth some tapwater ~7.5ph, should do them good. Also top dressed some wood ash (9-11ph) for ph up.

Hopefully the flush will up the ph, leach some salts and balance the ppm.

The rainwater is apparently moderately acidic and the soil was 5.9 to begin with so i will substitute for tap

Leave this here
soil-ph-chart-marijuana.jpg

About 4 weeks left
think i'll get a couple of fs leds in there

Day 43 since out of earth & 15 since 12/12

Still stretching
Screenshot_20210315-125901_Gallery.jpg
Did a halfway flush with a mix of too low & too high ph water, this mostly to up the ph a bit and reduce ec so the salts don't pull water from the plants. Put them out in the sun for a short while for some free radiation.

Ordered the ph measurement tool and will do a proper flush in a few days for next watering.

Overall looking quite alright, with 3 more weeks to fatten up the buds i think it will end up being worthwhile.

Leave this here

4 hours later, they look healthier
