Just use your tap water, Create a reservoir if you haven't already. Add a airpump with a airstone at the end of the line, drop it in the reservoir, let it sit about 48 hours and your ready to water. Refill the reservoir after each watering and allow the fresh tap water to sit again before the next watering.

you could do what metropolis suggests or you could just keep watering straight out of the tap like a lot of gardeners do. i think a r.o. system is one of the last things to buy, money can be more wisely spent on lights and venting.

for my first grow I used distilled water, for my second grow I used a RO/UV filter, for my third grow I used everything from Perrier, to distilled, rain, oxygentated, and now I just distill tap-filtered water and it works just fine.

I have always used straight tap water in soil, and hydro. and never had any problem.
I don't let it sit for a day, or worry about chlorine, I only adjust PH in hydro, not in soil.

It seems to me if you look around this site that the folks with problems are the ones who get carried away with trying to change / control everything.

well the main reason i want to use RO is because my water is hard at about 175ppm, and if i can get it down in the 20ppm range thats so much more nutes available to insert into my res

alright due to overwhelming opinions ill stick with tap water. thing is is there any in perticular list....or scale on how much ppm limits on certian ages of plants. mine are now going on a month old with about six nodes, but plants are only five inches tall. so very tight leaf structure. what would be a high limit without burning them?

blakesurdaddy,

I run GH nutes, and run 1000 to 1200 ppm in veg without many issues.
Some strains may show very light nute burn at these levels, while others can take more.
