im not coming down on anyone or im trying to take to everyone here eye to eye, not looking down on anyone., i just got the dual bulb for the experiment and sheer simplicity, and it worked for me.
im sorry if i offened a person, i just was giving my opinion and suggestions

As to do with the 400s why not use one of each (hps/mh) youd just be upping your plants light available.

, EVERYONE; It takes a village to raise a child, and you can apply that to the forums.

Ive included links so you all dont think im shooting the bull around

the 600watt dual is at

High Tech Garden Supplyhttp://www.hydrofanatics.com/watt-hpsmh-galaxy-electronic-grow-light-p-794.html

and i bought the 1000watter at Growco in grand rapids, mi, but he has an awesome online store here is the 1000watter

The Dual Arc bulbs ive found so far are meant for a HPS ballast. I do not believe they make a Dual Arc for a MH ballast, but it is a big world and im sure some one is working on it somewhere in the world.

yeah that agro brand is sometimes inferior stuff, i bought my 600 from them and loved the ballast and the reflector, but the bulb went out after 20 days of 18/6. 1 day went by and i went to growco in GR, MI and got athe hortilux bulb, 2 weeks went by and i finally recieved my bulb, but after i had already replaced it.

For my normal grow setup I normaly will have a 400HPS then I have [10.("100watts" 6500k) CFLs]. That is how I throw my dual spectrum. It doesn't have to be a HPS and a MH. Just plan around your budget and if you can always think ahead for expansion and upgrades.

we work construction together and HID's are fucken everywhere so HE hooked up with an electrician who has learned to "turn is head" if ya know what i mean so i guess he got lucky i just wish i could but after all the shit ive seen him go through i think im goin to wait.

PLus if i was to do it i wouldnt want to use bag seed i would want medical grade or some f1 gentics but i live in the "land of the free" (NOT) i dont think ordering seeds would be smart.

well i dont know for sure but if it produces more resin and trichromes per mm then of course it would be worth it

Oh I forgot to say, the Reflectorized lamp is HPS, get them from HTG supply. Best lamp there is - ALL of the light goes down to the plant - the just love it!!!

I'm using a 1000k dual spectrum made by Sun Systems. It has a 400w MH bulb and a 600w HPS bulb. Almost 3 years and no problems. Cost about 600.00. I use both bulbs at once. I think it does a better job than switching from one to the other. The ballast puts out lots of heat, it's outside the growroom. And you need a good exhaust fan to take care of the heat from the light. When you buy a system like this you can't go cheap on the rest stuff that goes along with the grow room. Don't go with the best you can afford...go with the best you can find...Spend the bucks and do it right. I'll have this system for many years to come....just my experience.

I know duel spectrum is better, what we were trying to figure out is wheather a duel arch bulb, or ballast that has both MH and hps for two bulbs at once was better, or should you just buy 2 seperat ballasts, I think thats why we were here... but I weould be lieing if I said that I knew

tckfui......I have no idea if buying 2 separate ballasts is better or not. I bought this setup as a package. So far "the package" works great. Don't have an answer to your question,
sorry...just my experience........
