Dual PC Stealth Grow -- Aurora Indica & Mazar x Afgan

Hey guys, I am back today with a real quick and general update.

AI#1: This little lady is at the verge of showing her first flower. She has grown to a fair size, keeping her deep emerald green, and is still only hooked down by three hooks. The fourth hook is approaching fast and the LSTing seems to be working very well. I scarified the soil last night and will check for any more unwanted growing things tonight. I am starting to think of my first ever lady plant name and might go with influential females in world history. Then again the porn star name-game might be fun too :)

MZ#1: Is still alive! After an unfortunate 'uprooting' accident I didn't think this little lady would make it out alive. However, plant genetics has once again astonished me in their versatility and life-seeking habits. This one is still small and nearing two weeks old. Will continue water feeding until the 4th week. After sexing, hopefully, I will start the flowering nutes and kick back.

AI#3: Sadly, this one has been crushed not once, but twice by my gf pushing my units around. She, is still alive, but has been stunned by the abuse and will need more time in order to heal properly. Will probably start flowering nutes about the same time as MZ#1 since this one is only a day younger. Really hoping this one is a girl.

Also, in misc updates I have purchased some plexiglass but I am unable to cut it. The guy at the store said to use a box cutter, but that doesn't seem to be a 'good' way of cutting this stuff. Can anyone help me? Google just states these metal saws, but it will probably be hard for me to just get a hand saw...much less a metal auto-fire saw 2000.

V12, Glad to hear your about to smoke some new dope :) What was the one that just finished? I know last time I checked up on you, you had like 9 different kinds of seeds and didn't know what to plant lol. I hope one day I have that problem, but hey thanks to you guys it is possible now. Got some shitty news on my grow last week...when I was reading up on my temps and had been having problems with my temps I noticed that while I was on vacation the temps reached 92F+ every night. Thus that entire week was counter productive and just stunned the shit out of them. Anyways, the shitty part is the fact that I have to wait an extra week to harvest completely blows my b-day smoke outta the water.

Anyways that wraps me up for now. I am extremely excited about getting this plexiglass in my units and AI#1 is a sexy beast. I will get some pics up soon because I still have a few questions about LSTing and if I am doing it correctly.

Well guys I think this is my first official post for August. As I looked back through my check book it reminded me of all the steps I have been through to make this grow possible. I am not done with my current grow yet (still haven't cut my plexiglass nor got my 2nd chamber up and running), but I believe I have realized that I think I have developed a hobby. With that said, I will eventually move up to a more advanced grow, but I needed and cherish all the experience this grow has given me. Let's get to the update ;)

AI#1: Goddess like. Still nonamed, but will fix that soon enough. Patience is a virtue, just hope I don't have to say that for my kids name. Other than that she is growing beautifully and has a spot near her first set of fan leaves that has started growing hairs. She is also developing hairs at the top (cola I presume).

MZ#1: Still small, but is working on 2-3 set of fan leaves. Still a lite green color with lite colored stem too.

AI#3: Small, but with a more deep emerald green like AI#1 was earlier in her life. Also, working on 2-3 set of fan leaves.

I am doing a full update with pictures, but first I would like to say that seeing the hairs for the first time was my 'turning point'. What I mean by that, I guess, is that with all the problems (only one major problem) like the heat issues, and always having to 'take a different route' with my plans, was making me feel like it wasn't worth it in the long run. However, after seeing those hairs...anything is worth it (no matter yeild) and I just really need to finish tweaking it to maximize my 'conditions'.

Anyways, getting to the pics:

1: AI#1
2: AI#1 -where I think I should put my 4th hook
3: AI#1 -close up, thought you could see the hairs...idk though
4: AI#1
5: AI#1 -more recent pic**
6: MZ#1
7: MZ#1 -looking cute
8: AI#3 -looking a bit bigger than MZ#1
9: Pic case
10: AI#1 -where I put the 4th hook, how she looks in the case before she grows outa t he hook, in red: where some hairs started to grow out

Well guys, hope you enjoy the amature bud-porn ;) The only questions I have is 1: Am I LSTing correctly? 2: The fungi has come back...should I be worried or just continue to scarify the soil?

Thanks in advanced guys!!

Hey Xander
I was gonna suggest more LST until I saw pic 10. Seems fine m8.
Great news you got some flowers at last. Makes everything worthwhile :)

I got my plexi cut to size so I have never cut any, but I remember just using a tenant saw to cut acrylic a few years ago for a similar reason and it worked fine. If no tenant saw is available you could do it with a hack saw but it would take a while. Easier option may be to mark up the size you want and take the sheet to a metal fabricator or car body shop and get them to use a grinder to cut it. IDK, there will be some way you can sort it.

I've only seen fungus a couple of times and it never became problematic for me so I don't know the best way to tackle it permanently. Maybe try sprinkling a little sand over the surface of the soil. I'm thinking the sand may draw some moisture out of the top layer and allow it to evaporate more quickly from the sand than it does directly from the soil. As long as it's a problem I would also continue to scarify. Scraping off the top layer and replacing it using higher amounts of perlite could also help.
I've never seen it become a huge problem, so don't worry unduly, but keep on top of it.

Great stuff, man. The LST is a bit close to the soil, but that doesn't really mean much. After a few weeks of flowering, you can take the stakes out and let it stretch (it stays down on its own). That powdery fungus has been in almost every plant I've had throughout my life.. cannabis or not. I even had green funk on the roots of my re-veggers and they looked awesome.

Cutting plexiglass.. you can score it and flex it. So.. line up a heavy metal ruler where you want the cut and run a razor along it HARD. Then, flex it slow and it should crack off like a graham cracker. Of course, sometimes you will get a retard snap and it'll be crooked.

Well got a quick update. Trying to be more productive with the girls. Have decided to try the flex method for my plexi glass. I am going to get the 2nd unit/chamber up and running. I will run 24/0 until I can get the temps and everything in order.

Anyways to the ladies I do have:

AI#1: Is growing larger everyday. Hairs are starting to 'pop' out of everywhere. I do think I was LSTing a bit to hard or close to the soil, because I can't really tell or predict where the buds will show up next. Either way, I removed some of her earlier hooks and allowed her some room from the soil. After that I noticed that there was still some fungi where she was laying, then I rescarified the soil and clipped one or two more fan leaves. I let her pot dry out and I fed her tonight with more food than water. Gonna see how this works out, but I think she is going to make a great recovery. Currently looks great, and has started to smell. Doesn't smell quite as heavy during the lights on, but when I wake in the mourning she is very stinky ;)

MZ#1: Still small and cute. Got a few pics of her. This is the first Mazar I have gotten to live past a week. She has made a miracle recovery after I up rooted her.

AI#3: Growing a bit faster than MZ#1, but still remains short, dark green, and dense.

Pics:
1. Current situation in the PC.
2. AI#1
3. AI#1 - Close up of 2 largeish *lol* hairs
4. AI#1 -In the case
5. AI#3
6. MZ#1
7. AI#3 and MZ#1 in the case

V12, should I still try to keep wrapping her around the pot? When should I stop LSTing her or remove her hooks?

I thought about taking my plexiglass up to a friends house that works on cars. Just hard to explain what I need it for. Anyways, I'll work something out if the flex method doesn't work, but thanks for the quick and helpful tips!

I think I got the mold this time. I got most of it last time honestly, but I think there was a patch under the plant that I couldn't get at the time. I scrapped everything out this time though so I feel confident it should be gone:joint:

ER, thanks for stoppin' by. Thanks for the flex method, I will try it out. If that don't work I am just going to go pay someone to do it lol.

The fungi really doesn't seem to be effecting the plant, but I just want to take care of it before it molds my crop or some shit. Bad luck has had it's run in my grow journal lol.

Well, hope to have more updates soon. Going to start germing 2 more AIs and 1 more MZ. After the next run I will be reordering some seeds. Any new recommendations?

TCK, I got my AI's from marijuana-seeds.nl too. They are quick to ship if you pay with a CC, but if using a money order it take a bit longer. With the CC I got my seeds in one week, however, when I ordered my WW from them I sent a money order and it took just over two weeks. Make sure if you are doing a money order (and you live in the US) to send an International money order or they will have to send it back before they ship the beans (happened to me :( ). Lemme know what super strain you decide upon. So far the AI's have been very fast and easy to grow. Good luck!

LT, so you suggest Greenhouse seeds. I will check them out tonight when I get home. Are they available on attitude? Also, I would like to top AI#1 but I don't think she is ready yet. She is only 7-8 days into flowering, but when should I top her? LSTing has been going pretty well. Seems like I have 4-6 bud sites and a cola :)

Post up some more pics and hopefully a name LOL tonight.

Topping's done in veg for best effect m8.
Like what's going on now. I can see the stages of the plants building up to a nice perpetual. Looks good :)
Just try and shape the plant now so that all the tops are level and leave it to grow.

Update:

Progressing very well. Temps have settled down quite a bit. Highest I have seen over the past two or more weeks is 87F @tops. I think the lower temps outside has helped lower the temps in the case. Humidity has been quite high. Ranging from 45-99% even a a day or two after feeding.

One question I have for the community is my AI#1 has orange spots on some of the fan leaves. I can't tell if it is spider mites or case of over feeding. I don't see any webbing or actual spider mites but the spots look like something is 'eating' it. However, at the same time it looks like a mild over feeding.

I have added two more AIs into the germination container. Both of these will be headed into unit #2 once soiled.

Some bad news for my journal follow the plexiglass. I started out by trying the flex method, but it just shattered a large piece off. Then I borrowed a hand saw from a friend and it's two flexible for the saw to cut into it. So I really don't have any other viable options right now. All suggestions appreciated!

Getting to the growing action :blsmoke: All plants got fed and watered today. Also, bought more soil so I topped off all the pots with some fresh soil. Used 1 bottle of water for feeding this entire unit.

AI#1: [DAY 6 in FLOWER] Finally got a name for this girl!!! Hayden as, Hayden Panettiere, intelligent good actor with a golden personality and sexy body. Hayden has been doing very well and growing beautifully. Still LSTing to try to get all the bud spots level but the fan leaves are growing denser by the day.

MZ#1: Looks like this one might be flowering, or sexing. Might be a male; there is a flower 'ball' on top of this little one. Still has a light green color with skinny stem.

AI#3: Growing perfectly. Looks like female so far. Short and dense with a deep green similar to ever greens. Has 4-5 sets of fans leaves and looks very promising on top of this one.

I do have pics for this update.
1: Hayden looking pretty :)
2: Hayden's cola and a few of her bud spots
3: AI#3
4: MZ#1
5: MZ#1's cola/ball
6: Case shot

Questions and Comments:

v12, Thanks for the words of encouragement. Is is okay to clip some of the really large fan leaves so that the light is directly on the 'bud site' or cola?

PaulMC, thanks for joining the journal. I hope I can be some inspiration even though my start was rocky. It really is worth it and grows on you to a hobby. Good luck with your grow!

LT, Checked 'em out. Some really nice stuff for quite reasonable prices. Only thing is on attitude they don't have the size for most of them. Any strains that you know is good and short? I might be able to fit a medium in my case, too.

Well, should have more soon. Hoping that both AI's germ and I can get them in soil by tomorrow. Trying to ensure some smokage for November and December :) Good night everyone!

you'd be able to go with anything really if your doing 12/12 with lst but then again, your going for perpetual so maybe try some lowryders or auto flowering ak's or something interesting

i ahvnt grown enough to get great info on the growing of strains bro

wish i could be of more help

i could say this though, you have the black pots that look lots bigger then the cups , ive seens so many people have so many big plants(incompairison to your grow box...like 2 foot plants no problem) in the cup's that its not even worth the waste of space in your smaller space to waste , maybe beable to fit 4 cups? or find a container that would fit 4,

just a thought about your production in your perpetual, im flowering my girls in 16 oz water bottles and red cups..

Hey Xander

Loving the name you chose. Hope AI is as good looking as her namesake by the time she matures :)
If you have to remove leaves then do it and don't worry about. I can usually find somewhere to tuck them away but it isn't always possible in such cramped conditions.

Just a quick update for tonight. Just got a few quick things to post up. To start this post off I have trimmed just a few fan leaves off of Hayden. One fan leaf was just under the size of my hand. Now, Hayden, is much more opened up to the light even on the bud sites. I got rid of another leaf or two with those orange spots on it. I have some pics of the leaves I clipped.

Don't know if I have posted this or now, but MZ#1 was indeed a mister. This little mister got pulled about 4 days ago.

AI#3 is look great. Just about an inch away from the lights soaking in some massive rays. Still a bit small but gets larger and denser by the day. Should start flowering within the next few weeks.

Germd two more AI's then after I pulled MZ#1, I started germing two more MZs. They all got soiled within 72 hours of each other. This did, however, deplete my MZ stash. Still have 4 AIs left, but looks like I will be needing some new seeds much sooner than I had imagined.

This Wednesday I am going to actually try and finish my cases. I am going to go to the hardware store and see if they sell any specific tools to cut plexiglass. Might even grab another sheet of pg. After I get the plexiglass stabilized I will start making my home made carbon filter. I am pretty much just going to set it on the plexiglass and tie it over the fan. Hayden has been stinking her ass off here lately. The smell is just fucking...:weed: basically.

LT, you have had some lowlife/lowryders before correct? The only thing really drawing me back from getting something like this is I 'believe' I read some where that their potency was greatly less than most? Because man that Lemon Skunk looks delicious.

Also, I didn't catch what you meant by the red cups. Do you mean that they are not worth it in red cups? I did realize tonight that I could easily fit 7-8 red cups in 1 unit. That's 14-16 for both my units if I went with fem lowryders. If they are feminized I should see 1 plant per week, but if they aren't worth it it'd be a waste of time. What do you think?

V12, I trimmed her up a bit. I am going to get some pics of her after her trimming because she looks so sexy. You can actually see the bud sites. I counted, 6 plus a cola and it looks like it might break out once more. 8 plus a cola would be great! Lemme know what you think when you see her :)

As for my pics, the Leaves are of the ones I cut off. AI#3 in her case and I have another of my 2nd unit with all the red cups in her, but my bb is acting up again. So Ill try to get that one up later on.

In other news, I just made my first donation to a charity. I ask anyone to match me at NORML.ORG of $4.20 :) Its for a good cause. *if you live in the US*

Well guys, thanks for stopping by and chatting with me. Good night and have a good weekend!

i like the cups , better so then containers that are slightly bigger and waste alot space, ive seen 3 foot plants (not the best ofcourse) out of red 16 oz' cups.....

if i were you i would just try to fit as much bush in my units as i could...i figure 2 cups every 2 weeks would have you set and if you could fit as mmany as you say

maybe even 4 cups every 2 weeks with feminized seeds

I havnt grown lowryder or w/e but i have smoked the auto AK which i assume is about the same since it flowers automatically....got me high nice body buzz after one hit

i'd say go with the strain you want the most some grow very lush compaired to others in the first few weeks

Going in the cups is awesome. The only issue is that you water more often.. I am not believing anyone could flower 6-8 cups of anything other than lowryder or tiny indicas @ 12/12 from seed, though. I've found it nice doing the top, top, top (in veg) and then flower. As soon as I can, I'll get pics up, but I'm about to grab a sick pile in 5-6 weeks from 2 plants - 1 in a cup - in my case. If I don't see a Z, per, I'll be shocked.

Hey everyone. Thanks for stopping by and giving a few comments. They have made me rethink my grow a bit. I had seen ERs avatar but I actually thought that was a lowryder/lowlife. Truely, glad to hear that cups work fine.

After much thought, I must have another plan change. First, I plan to completely stabilize my temps (going to install the plexiglass Wednesday). After that, I will no longer germ anything. I will be sticking all small and germing plants in unit 2 and let Hayden have Unit 1 to herself. Once Hayden has been cropped, I will start an 8 cup large harvest with Lowlife's Auto AK47 or Lemon Skunk *out of stock* and Low Ryder's NYC Diesel. Then in December the ones I am germing now and the first cycle of auto's will be finishing up. Once both units are done I will start a 16 cup large harvest. I want to do this because it is almost possible to get 5 harvests per year with these little monsters. All thoughts are welcome.

Anyways, to the current situation. Hayden is looking amazing. Her smell kills me to this day. I honestly love it so much I don't want to mask it, but it is still necessary. Got a few new pics of her. Buds are starting to really grow. Still counted 6 bud sites and a cola, so I think that might be all I am getting. As long as they really dense I'll be super happy.

AI#3: MIGHT BE A FUCKING BOY. I seriously can't believe this one. I have noticed she has some balls growing on her nodes, but not on her cola. However, unlike the other males I have had, this one has 3 balls rather than 2 on each node. Anyone have any suggestions? I really hope this are just budsite, but I do wonder. I have some crappy pics for some visual aid.

MZ#2: Just popped his head outa the soil. Tried taking the seed off the top, but had quite a bit of resistance with what felt like tearing so I just left it alone.

[currently germing: 3]

Pics:
1: The pic that wouldn't upload in my last update. Using dvd cases I will be able to fit 8 16oz cups with directed air flow.
2. Hayden's cola or one of her bud sites.
3. Hayden's big ass fan leaves ;)
4. AI#3's balls in a cluster of 3. I will say there looks to be hairs on it's node too.
5. AI#3 -- Another pic of a 3 cluster, but right under it you can see a hair that I was talking about. *On the node below the cluster of 3, on the left side. The hair looks like it is resting on the finger in the middle of the image.*

LT, Thanks for clearing that up for me. I don't know why I felt like I had to re pot. From now on I am going to try to get as much as I can within the year. Thanks for the tip on the Auto AK, glad to hear it was good! Make sure you hit up my next journal which I'll start in October.

ER, I do feel your concern with cramming in 6-8 regular plants in a tower. I agree it would be very tough and would require a good amount of trimming. I would love to see your method! Hit me up with a link when you get your pics uploaded.

Well guys I have to work tomorrow, so I need to call it a night.
