Drying Box 2008

I was experimenting the other day with a box to dry my first harvest in.
I wanted something lightproof with a fan to exhaust moist air.

Supplies:

  • A carboard box
  • String
  • 90mm PC fan
  • Electrical flex
  • A basic switch
  • Duct tape
1. With a cardboard box measuring 52x49x24cm I cut a large flap panel on the front to allow easy access to the inside.
2. Using a sharp knife I cut out a hole big enough to allow sufficient air to flow out of the box through an exhaust fan to be placed at the top.
3. I mounted a 90mm PC fan on the outside of the box to work as an exhaust. Using a basic hobby switch I mounted onto the box I wired the fan direct onto my PC's motherboard where I have software to control the fan. I will probably use an AC plug once I get hold of one.
4. At the bottom I cut 4 holes to draw in fresh air into the box.
5. Threading string through the box I created 4 levels of 4 lines to hang my bud.
6. All remaining sides and gaps are taped up to ensure efficient air flow.

I'm going to cover the intake holes with some sort of filter before I put buds in the box.

Relative humidity ranges between 45-55% whether the fan is on or off
Temps are between 65-75oF (18-24oC).

Cheers
