Lol ya negative on that my friend, I'm not trying to mess with a good thing. No I just found an effective location free of obstructions. Its location is ideal for my tent setup. I'll post a new thread with my complete setup real soon. I've put together my entire environment and am starting from seed with blueberry to keep it short.

if there are issues you could just add a second 4" exhaust vent since you already have the hole saw to install it and Y it.
the proper way to do this is with a 6" or 8" Y and two 6 to 4 reducers.

The person who helped me mentioned this same idea. Run a splitter to the two and problem solved. Honestly after hooking everything up it seems to work fine with the 4" or at least good enough for a trial run. I'll be posting results as I go along.

In the winter I do vent into the garage because I actually want the heat at that time. End of summer and late spring I need to vent outside of the garage because of the ambient temperature. In the middle of summer when it's the hottest I don't even run the tent anymore because I can't keep the heat down and I'm not going to put an air conditioner in the garage to keep it cool and run it 24/7. I did use a portable air conditioner in the tent for awhile but now I just shut down and grow plants outside for a couple months. I'll bring them in and finish them off in the tent when the temps cool down some. It's not ideal but it's what I have to work with and so far I'm making it work.

I would go a 4" since the duct is much cheaper and reducers are pretty cheap. Other than that financial consideration another point is if you ever want to use it for a different appliance most use 4" as it is kinda a standard for household.

Well it's up and running, for the most part, still waiting for my lights to show up in a couple days. I'll be popping some blueberry seeds this week 20190825_185647.jpg and begin germination. Next few days I will be adjusting my climate to make everything suitable.

Ok so one of my lights showed up and I've been keeping the tent turned on to play and adjust with the climate inside. I made a quick video to demonstrate my setup. I would appreciate any feedback, suggestions, criticism or high fives as I am new to growing my own.

All those straps around the carbon filter is going to slow down air flow. Small sheet metal screws between the filter and the fan should secure that. Then you only need a strap between them, so air flow is not restricted,

I do have the fan attached to filter via sheet metal screws. I grabbed that orange tie down to see if I could sinch it up closer to the top as the ratchet clips left it hanging a little. I'll try and work on that a little but more. Space is limited and I would like to keep it inside. I can smoke a joint outside my tent and watch the smoke roll inside of it.

You know you can take that scrubber and sit it on the outside on the floor and just let it suck air out of the tent. Just sit the scrubber upright with the fan on top like 'T'. I've been meaning to move the fan down an connect it directly to the filter.IMG_20190828_074930.jpg

How would that remove heat from the space the tent lives in though?
Or remove humidity?

I have a ceiling evac that connect into a controller with both fans. I just use this to bring in fresh air to purge co2, but if i sealed off my intake I could use it for the same purpose. My room is a hybrid sealed, so it works little differently.

Yes but this would defeat my purpose of drilling a hole for exhaust. Its drawing air just fine so I'll just clean it up a bit. I am trying to bring fresh air in from garage and expell all hot stinky air outside so this will just have to suffice. If I expand any then I'll start considering controlling my garage climate.
