what does the EC come out to running it full strength?
I’m not up to full strength yet. My highest was 520 ppm (1ec).
I had tip burn at lower dosages though, like 200 ppm (.4ec) when they were smaller. It really seems like it happens after they drink up a bunch of ppm, which seems to happen after the ph takes a wander off of 5.8 to 6. Just wondering if the silicon will level the ph out and if it does, will that slow the absorption of the major elements?

I’ve been reading some of Dr. bugbee’s reseach and he published this:

“The essential nutrients can be put into 3 categories based on how quickly they are
removed from solution. Group 1 elements are actively absorbed by roots and can be
removed from solution in a few hours. Group 2 elements have intermediate uptake rates
and are usually removed from solution slightly faster than water is removed. Group 3
elements are passively absorbed from solution and often accumulate in solution.

Group 1. Active uptake, fast removal
NO3, NH4, P, K, Mn

Group 2. Intermediate uptake
Mg, S, Fe, Zn, Cu, Mo, Cl

So the N,P,K,and Mn can be used up in a few hours according to him, would the addition of silicon slow this process? I do find the 321 to be a bit of a tip burner and it seems to happen after they drink up a bunch of ppm. Maybe silicon would help with that.
I think you need a buffer for added cation exchange. That's either by means of minerals being equal in positive and negative charge while being used or by means of adding a cation exchange buffer agent like silicates.

Adding either carbonates (like what's in Calimagic) or silica to the solution will steer you in the right direction. Like I mentioned earlier, I won't grow indoor without added potassium silicate as a soil/solution pH buffer.
