Double Ended penetration vs HPS ?

DE is great. I have x2 1K over 10. Using Ushio bulb and BOSS hood. First run just used as pre-flower to get used to the intensity. Later budded x10 in 15gal. DiamondOG. Tight and dense...lowers were excellently penetrated but trellis at early growth helped so I can't say it will be the same for everyone. Yield: 1142g

Hello farmers,
Long time lurker here, been around for few years, been growing for just a few years but here recently decided to take things to the next level. I run this entire place all by my lonesome and its a lot of work. I have a crew of trimmers when its time to get sticky.

This place is currently a work in progress and I only have about 50,000W burning right now and I plan on adding more as time permits.

I run Coco Beds cut 60% with perlite and abunch of organic amendments, Aptus Additives and PBP as a base, and weekly OGBioWar Teas. Feed every watering with an EC of 1.1-1.4. Currently Hand watering till the irrigation system is built.
All Rooms are supplemented with bottled CO2 and Controlled by an Iponic 624.

Here is whats rocking currently:
24x34 Flower Room
20 Nanolux DE's with the NCCS
2x 5 Ton AC's
3 Quest 205's
4x 28' Rows, all on wheels, with two rows pushed together with 3 isles to work around the plants. 8-10 Plants Per 3x6 bed

14x22 Flower Room
5 Ton AC
Max Dry Dehuy
7 EPap Overhead
4 Vertical 1K Hps down the middle
2 16' Rows along the walls and the middle has 3 monster plants in 25 gallon smart pots of coco.

PreVeg Room
2 Ton Mini Split
12x20
5 Dpap 315's and 3 Sunsystem LEC 315's
(I plan on adding 2 more Dpap's as I like them better)

Main Veg Room
24x14
5 Ton AC
Currently has 12 1k MH's in adjust a wings
But I just ordered: 6 Double Dpap 630's and 6 Epap's with the MH bulbs.

Dry Room:
24x14
Mini Split and Hi Dry 100

Just framed out and need to paint the:
6x6 Clone room
7k btu Mini

6x7 Test Flower room
1 Nanolux DE
7k Btu Mini split

Currently building:
24x18x12 Flower Room
Planing on 16k

Gotta go snag some more pictures and get back to work!

That's all not so ,,,,, boy, how do I say this?.......Not really in a way......PAR lighting spectrum will case more rapid growth and longer node space. Depending on when used.

The blue or Low End spectrum will give shorter node space and more leaves or "plant mass" and also cause ripening to be FASTER and more complete. This use shortens the flower period by minor amounts.
There are now out (HortiLux I think) 1K bulbs that are including blue and UV spectrum all in a HPS bulb......$127 per last I saw. This opens up some possibilities as I'm tired of my slow ripening HPS......

The green spectrum does nothing for a plant that we know or understand....

Fuller spectrum growing has positive Terp, Trich, and potency effects on our plants..

Been waiting to respond for a while after doing research into tons of different lighting options! WHEW! I like very much what I see with the hortilux super blue 1000w hps mh dual arc bulb. I believe this is the bulb you were referring to that includes vast amounts of blue spectrum compared to traditional HPS. It seems to accomplish this by incorporating HPS & MH "qualities" into one bulb.

I believe this bulb may be what I'm looking for. The only downside is apparently these bulbs are not to be used with digital ballasts. Of course I'm currently running digital. Makes no difference. I must do more research into these and other lighting options yet. At first glance I do think this may be a more cost effective and simpler setup than my idea of running DE lighting with rotating/staggered CDM's on adjustable height (pulleys). I'm wondering if my current closed hoods would work with this bulb without having them on pulleys for height adjustment. I'll have higher ceilings in the new setup but and with this bulb producing blue spectrum the added height from canopy I believe, and correct me if I'm wrong, is going to keep the plants from "stretching". Basically hoping for multiple, close node sites rather than stretchy, spaced out nodes without adjusting the hoods height. I'll also be doing a perpetual garden. More than likely I'll have to use vented hoods due to location and building features. Those are my main reasons for attempting this without adjusting the hoods height.

I suppose in the end I don't mind spending the money on DE, CDM, LED or any variation of lighting if it makes sense. Above all else I'm trying to accomplish quality & quantity in my garden. Though I'm extremely happy with my results as it stands, I always strive to do better. I'm also the kind of guy that loves to do his research and own testing, however, I'm simply not in the position to do so...yet. I'm fairly new to this. Less than a year now actually growing....though I've sparcely researched cannabis horticulture over the years. Very nervous about switching to a bigger build so I'm trying to squeeze in as much information as I can in the next couple weeks.

....Kinda going off topic perhaps...oops...just hoping to add to the conversation and gain from it also! Love the community guys! I've always learned a lot from RIU.

nano just came out with a DE fixture that has both HPS and MH
Very cool! I'm going to check it out! They are probably expensive!

The more I read about em though the more it seems using HPS & CDM or DE & CDM separately in the same room are ultimately the better option. I know the whole 1 bulb, 1 ballast 1 hood deal having a dual bulb but if the up front cost is worth it they why not? It seems the end result is better having both running rather than a single bulb that is 600w hps and 400w MH.

Yup, that's the bulb.
At least mag,s are cheap....I'm going to get one and give it shot (test it out) in the personal.
