So, one will find that fluoride occurs naturally in some water sources and based on this its easier to add it to the ones that don't and reap some benefit then remove it from all of them and reap possible problems from the poor because one knows that the poor are usually vitamin deffiecient.
Thats on long sentence!! ~LOL~ Fluoride is messed up. Take that shit out of our water! Who do I have to smack around? lol

has anyone heard the thing about anti-persprent deodorant causing cancer?
No, but I have a feeling you did. Feel free to share info.

lol @ this.
first of all....its a proven fact that flouride prevents tooth decay. the only way that flouride is harmful to a person is if the quantity added to tap water is incorrect. 2 parts flouride to 1 part water per million (ppm). you have to intake more than 8ppm to harm your body and as long as you never intake more than 2.5mg of fluoride per day you're not going to hurt yourself. its just like anything else you may use in high doses... it can have side effects IF USED INCORRECTLY!

there are alot worse things wrong with toothpaste than the flouride in it. (which is why i use special toothpaste) what about the fact that your toothpaste has formaldehyde in it. that doesnt rub you the wrong way?? how do you think toothpaste has an unending shelf life. its also in lipsticks.

and what about bottled water. the toxins in the plastic containing your 'precious' flouride free bottled water contains phthalates and bisphenol A. those toxins mess with your endocrine system and screwing up your hormone balance.

I think I'll stick with my flouride and healthy teeth and avoid them hormone imbalances!

I think that says it all... the risks OUTWEIGH the benefits. By the way, white teeth come from brushing like you should and taking care of your teeth, not from fluoridated water.

it doesnt cause white teeth but it keeps your teeth healthy

1. Promotes remineralization of the teeth.
Tooth decay is basically the result of acids caused by bacteria, breaking down the hard enamel on a tooth. This process is called demineralization. With the presence of fluoride in a persons saliva, the fluoride will attract other minerals such as calcium, which in turn, helps speed up the process of remineralization, (building back-up the tooth structure that was damaged due to decay).

This is why it is important to brush your teeth at least 3 times a day with a toothpaste containing fluoride, than brushing with a non-fluoridated toothpaste or only brushing once a day. Drinking tap water that contains fluoride is also better than drinking non-fluoridated bottled water.

2. Resistance to decay.
When the teeth begin to remineralize, basically repair themselves from the damage caused by tooth decay, the teeth are actually stronger than they were before. The compound that is formed during the remineralization process is much harder and more resistant to the acids that cause tooth decay.

3. Fluoride slows down the formation of acids that cause tooth decay.
Bacteria is a living organism, just like we are. When we eat and drink, we produce waste. So does bacteria. The waste that bacteria produces from eating sugars and starches, is an acid which eats away at the hard enamel on our teeth causing tooth decay. The presence of fluoride interferes with the bacteria's ability to process sugars and starches. As a result, less acid is produced.

Fluoride should be consumed and used in moderation. Fluoride found in public water is regularly monitored to ensure that the fluoride remains at a safe level. Whenever brushing your teeth with a toothpaste that contains fluoride, use a small amount of toothpaste, (about the size of green pea), and rinse and spit thoroughly. Choose a fluoride mouthwash, rinse, and toothpaste that is labeled with the American Dental Associations "Seal of Approval". Any product carrying this Seal means that the product has been tested and the fluoride content has been found to be at a safe and effective level. Consult with your dentist and/or physician before taking any fluoride supplements.

It still poses the question of 'why European countries don't fluoridate their water and don't have worse teeth than us?'. There have been studies proving that drinking fluoride DOES NOT IMPROVE ORAL HYGIENE/cavity rate.

So your saying that all those people in the vids that I linked were giving false testimonies? They are just running their mouth for the fun of it I guess?

what European countries are you talking about... EUROPE HAS TERRIBLE HYGIENE WHEN IT COMES TO TEETH!!

it wasnt until recently that they actually started doing things to combat tooth decay over there. have you ever been there and seen their teeth???

sure there are probably some PARTS of europe where tooth hygiene isnt so bad. and certainly it has improved over the years, but it has nothing to do with tap water! they started seeing dentists and brushing and flossing. thats why they have better teeth now than say even 5 years ago.

not to mention plenty of countries in europe are too poor to even afford dental healthcare in general so those countries do have poor teeth.

in some countries in Europe the water does have fluoride. just not all.

and no one is saying that flouride isnt bad for you. its just BAD in large quantities. its been shown that in small doses its actually helpful. you have to intake quite a bit of fluoride in order to experience any of the symptoms stated.

"Most cases of fluorosis occur in children who take unnecessary daily fluoride supplements even though they brush regularly with fluoridated toothpaste and their home's tap water contains good levels of fluoride. Misuse of fluoride products, including rinses and toothpaste, also can contribute to fluorosis, but this is less common." kidshealth.org

additionally, just like every other thing people are afraid of (cancer, Alzheimer's, stroke, heart attack) there is always going to be research that causes you to FEAR MONGER! but i hate to burst your bubble.....

BOTTLED WATERS ALSO HAVE FLUORIDE IN THEM. not all brands but there are many on the market that do.

taken straight from the FDA website. so you cannot contest this:
Dr. Robert Ophaug, a professor of oral health at the University of Minnesota School of Dentistry, notes that tap water has another advantage many people don't think about: It typically contains fluoride. Many communities have elected to add fluoride to drinking water to promote strong teeth and prevent tooth decay in residents, though some groups continue to oppose this practice and believe it's detrimental to health.
Ophaug says bottled water often does not have fluoride added to it. Or, if it has been purified through reverse osmosis or distillation, the fluoride may have been removed. People who drink mostly bottled water, especially those who have children, need to be aware of this, he says. They may need to use supplemental fluoride that is available by prescription from dentists or doctors. The supplements are usually recommended for children ages 7 to 16. Fluoride supplements cost around $15 for a three-month supply.
"At the least, inform the children's dentist or doctor that you are relying on bottled water," Ophaug says.
The IBWA says there are more than 20 brands of bottled water with added fluoride available to consumers today. When fluoride is added to bottled water, the FDA requires that the term "fluoridated," "fluoride added," or "with added fluoride" be used on the label. Consumers interested in how much fluoride bottled water contains can usually find out by contacting individual companies directly.

so as you can see 20 Brands of bottled water carry fluoride. and if fluoride is so terrible and does nothing for teeth at all then how come EVERY country that practices dental healthcare uses fluoride when getting teeth cleaning. and how come children who are not given fluoride suppliments tend to have tooth decay in their baby teeth if fed large amounts of sugary foods and candy. it must have some benefit.

and I'd like to know how many people you personally have known in your lifetime that have suffered from fluoride toxicity and/or died because of fluoride......:dunce:

Did you know that the flu shot has aluminum in it and has been linked to Alzheimers? Now check the ingredients of your deoderant, look at what the active ingredient is.

Thats Anti-perspirant[sp]... The aluminum in your Anti-perspirant[sp] (talcum powder as well) blocks the pores so you can not sweat as much...

Most Deodorants have little or no aluminum...

Why would anyone think the gov't would care enough about out teeth in the first place? How come they still sell us cigarette's(and at high prices- 5 dollars a pack, mostly taxes)?

Whats so important about our teeth? Why not let us take care of ourselves, and use the fluoride in toothpaste? Anyone else question these things?
